Story
Chandler is quite the charmer, loves his people and climbing up on your shoulder for a better view of the world. He is good with other dogs and cats. He lives with many cats and his dog friend, Phoebe. He loves the attention of his person, so would be okay as the only pet in the house. And no more than one or two other dogs about his size please! He loves car rides and long walks at a fast pace. Once he is done with his walk he prefers to rest up for the next long walk. He is a good office dog! He does like to play with toys, mostly fetch. He does like playing in the yard, but doesn't want to be outside by himself, and always stays close by his human. When he meets men, he might bark at them but then lets them pet him. He never barks at women or children. When he first meets you, he does not want you to pick him up but likes to roll around on your feet. After he gets to know you, picking him up is good.  He loves jumping up in the air and will let you catch him and hold him for a few minutes, longer if you let him perch on your shoulder. He loves laying in your lap on his back so he can get belly rubs. When he is done with your lap he jumps down and lays at your feet.  He is crate and house trained. The only issue - if you back him into an area where he feels cornered, he will growl and try to nip you as a warning. This has happened just once since he moved into his foster home. As long as whatever you want him to do is his idea all is good! But because of the possibility of nipping, it would be best if his home only has older children. He is up to date on vaccines and is heart worm negative. He is ready to go and can move into his new home the same day as the home visit if all goes well. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 13, 2025, 1:53 pm

Story
Update: 11/04/25 Chopper would like to speak - I have been with 3 UYR Fosters now on my long road trip and all I keep hearing is that I am such a sweet little boy and it's easy to fall in love with me right away. Awww........I am very affectionate, love to be near my human and I like to cuddle with her when we sleep. I am a very good eater, which is a good thing, as I am much too skinny and they are trying to put some weight on me. I have gained a pound! Yippee! I get along well with the resident senior dog. My only little quirk is that I won't walk on the leash. If I could talk, I could tell you why, but foster Mom is just figuring it might be lack of experience. So she is slowly working with me to help me like doing that. I am going in this week for my neuter, dental and pedicure. Once I heal from that, I will be ready to rock n' roll my way to you. I know I am a senior, but I am a spunky little guy and if you welcome me into your home and heart, I promise I will love and cherish you for the rest of my life.

Story
Update: 11/04/25 Tyson has enjoyed a very happy and loving journey in the short time he was rescued from the shelter after his Mommy passed away and, sadly, no one wanted him. It's hard to imagine that someone wouldn't want this sweet and darling little man. He loves to be near his human, is very affectionate, gets along well with foster mom's resident senior dog, eats well, sleeps well and is housebroken. He does have a little incontinence during the night so he sleeps with a belly band - other than that - no accidents. He will let you know when he wants to go out and walks nicely on the leash. He didn't know how to do his business in the grass but because he is a smart boy and a fast learner, he is starting to go in the grass. He had even been afraid of the stairs and now prances up the stairs like a young dog! Tyson has been to the vet and has stage one kidney disease, so he will be going on a kidney diet. His blood work is pretty good, some highs and lows, but considering the neglect he has endured, he is doing quite well. Tyson needs a dental in a big way but vet is waiting until he is on the kidney diet for a couple of weeks, along with antibiotics and then will reassess. After his nasty, infected mouth is healed, it can also stabilize his blood levels. That's what we know for now and if you are wanting to give a mellow, calm and loving senior boy a good home, he promises to love and cherish you for the rest of his life. Will you be the one?
