Parker is finally getting his chance to enjoy life as a cherished companion. After being used for breeding, he is discovering a whole new world full of soft beds, kind people, and the joy of just being a dog.He can be nervous and shy at first, but once he feels safe, his sweet personality shines. Parker is currently in a foster home with another dog and is doing good with slow, positive introductions. He is learning that other dogs can be friends and that new experiences can be fun.Parker is looking for an adopter who will cheer him on as he gains confidence and continues his journey. With patience, kindness, and love, he is sure to blossom into a happy, loyal best friend.Parker is 5 years old.The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.helpingstrays.org

Story
Rhett was part of a hoarding situation. His lucky day came on June 14 when a kind soul took him from that terrible situation and brought him to PAWS. He was a pitiful site - his fur caked with feces and dirt, fleas all over him, toe nails so long he could barely walk, and so hungry. But, despite all of that, he found a way to be such a happy boy and seemed to know his life had just gotten better. He has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on his Parvo/Distemper and Rabies shot. He did test positive for Heartworms so we have begun the treatment and will be sure that is completed. This special, kind hearted boy deserves to know the love of a family of his own and I just know the right one is out there waiting for him. If interested in adopting him, please go to pawspaws.org to complete the PAWS application. You will need to leave the Petfinder site and go to your Google search engine and type in pawspaws.org. Meet and greets will be arranged after we have an approved application. He is a treasure will make your life complete! His adoption fee is $300.
