Story
Turk is a tiny gentleman with a big heart packed into 5.5 perfect pounds. At 10 years young, this sweet little Yorkie is the definition of a low-energy lap dog — happiest curled up against you, soaking in all the love you’re willing to give. Turk came from animal control severely matted and, to add insult to injury, was misidentified as a female. He was understandably affronted at first… but being the gracious gentleman he is, he has since forgiven everyone and moved on with his dignified little life. He rides beautifully in the car, does well in a crate, and gets along nicely with other small dogs. Cats? He’s fine with them. Respectful children? Also just fine. Turk is easygoing, calm, and polite in the home. He does not have separation anxiety, but he would absolutely adore someone who has plenty of time for snuggles and lap naps. With his one soulful eye and tender little spirit, Turk doesn’t ask for much — just a soft place to land, a warm lap, and someone who appreciates the quiet magic of a tiny senior companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, cuddly shadow who will love you with his whole (one-eyed) heart, Turk is ready. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $275 He is neutered , up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Story
Meet Turbo & Rascal — a bonded pair who complete each other. Turbo and Rascal are an adorable, inseparable duo looking for a forever home together. Turbo is a 9-month-old Chihuahua, 8 pounds of pure joy. He’s very friendly, playful, and outgoing, and absolutely loves his walks. Turbo brings the fun and confidence wherever he goes. Rascal, a 1-year-old Yorkie mix weighing 6 pounds, is Turbo’s quiet shadow. He’s gentle, reserved, and sweet, happiest when snuggled in a lap or carried in a dog bag while Turbo explores the world. Rascal will walk on leash too—though he tends to walk in little circles, which only adds to his charm. Together, they balance each other perfectly. Both are: • Crate trained • Great in the car • Leash capable • Good with other dogs • Okay with respectful children This pair is sweet, affectionate, and truly bonded, and must stay together. If you’re looking for double the love—with one playful explorer and one cuddle-loving companion—Turbo and Rascal are ready to steal your heart. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog The minimum adoption donation amount for both together is $600. They are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. Story
Dorian 10 years old • Yorkie • Currently 7 lbs (working toward his buff era 💪) Dorian is 7 pounds of skinny legend… but don’t worry — he’s already gained almost 2 pounds since being picked up as a stray and is well on his way to his ideal 9-pound physique. With his voracious appetite, we expect him to be built like Arnold in no time. Senior glow-up in progress. This quiet little gentleman is low energy and spends most of his day perfecting the art of snoozing. He’s calm, crate trained, rides nicely in the car, and does well with other small dogs. Cats are fine too — as long as they politely ignore him. Dorian doesn’t see very well, so quick movements can startle him. Because of this, he can be a bit head shy and would do best in a calm home without small children. He just needs gentle handling and people who move at his pace. Once he feels safe, he settles in beautifully. He recently got a little trim after his photos (new pictures coming soon!). His hair is straight and silky, so regular brushing will keep those locks luscious — though he’s perfectly happy rocking a shorter haircut if that’s your style. Dorian is a soft, quiet soul who asks for very little: a steady routine, a peaceful home, and a comfy place to nap between meals. If you love senior underdogs with comeback stories, Dorian is ready for his next chapter — preferably one with snacks and snuggles. His minimum adoption donation amount is $275 He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Story
Babe is a 14-year-old Maltese weighing about 9 pounds, and she is every bit the tiny, fluffy angel she appears to be. Babe found her way to us after her beloved owner had to move into a nursing home, a heartbreaking transition for them both. It’s clear she was deeply loved, and she carries that gentle, devoted spirit with her. This sweet senior girl is looking for a calm, cozy home where she can enjoy her golden years. She would love a soft lap, a comfy bed, and someone to cherish her the way she deserves. Senior pups like Babe have a quiet magic about them. They don’t ask for much, just love and a little place to belong. If you’re ready to open your heart to a tiny companion with a lifetime of love still to give, Babe may be the perfect addition to your family. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Vecna is a 2-year-old Maltese mix weighing in at 14 pounds, and he is serving personality with a side of pop star flair. Currently rocking a haircut that would make early-2010s Justin Bieber nod in approval, this little guy has presence.  While we are still getting to know him, Vecna has shown himself to be a pretty cool dude. He carries himself with quiet confidence and seems to be taking everything in stride. New surroundings, new people, new routines, he is handling it all like a seasoned pro. He is the perfect “take you everywhere” size. Big enough to keep up, small enough to scoop up for couch time when the day winds down. If you are looking for a stylish sidekick with an easygoing vibe, Vecna just might be your guy.
