Meet Turbo & Rascal — a bonded pair who complete each other. Turbo and Rascal are an adorable, inseparable duo looking for a forever home together. Turbo is a 9-month-old Chihuahua, 8 pounds of pure joy. He’s very friendly, playful, and outgoing, and absolutely loves his walks. Turbo brings the fun and confidence wherever he goes. Rascal, a 1-year-old Yorkie mix weighing 6 pounds, is Turbo’s quiet shadow. He’s gentle, reserved, and sweet, happiest when snuggled in a lap or carried in a dog bag while Turbo explores the world. Rascal will walk on leash too—though he tends to walk in little circles, which only adds to his charm. Together, they balance each other perfectly. Both are: • Crate trained • Great in the car • Leash capable • Good with other dogs • Okay with respectful children This pair is sweet, affectionate, and truly bonded, and must stay together. If you’re looking for double the love—with one playful explorer and one cuddle-loving companion—Turbo and Rascal are ready to steal your heart. They are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Story
Applications at leiashope.org Oakley 5-Year-Old Female Yorkshire Terrier Location: Decatur, IL Oakley is a sweet little Yorkie who becomes more confident with each passing day. When the weather is nice, she enjoys spending time outside running the fence line with her foster fur siblings, keeping watch for strangers or the occasional rabbit. With the cold and snow, she’s much happier soaking up the warmth indoors, curled up in a cozy dog bed or snuggled close to her foster mom. Inside the home, Oakley has truly found her stride. She enjoys comfy dog beds, loves sleeping in bed with her foster mom, and is a world-class cuddler. She often chooses to lay close while watching TV, happily soaking up attention. Once hesitant, Oakley is now an attention hog and will absolutely navigate obstacles to make her way into a lap. Oakley is less fearful of strangers and does well with kids. She enjoys the company of other dogs and follows their lead, both for playtime and confidence. She has not been around cats. She’s a smart little girl who wants to please and continues to blossom in a loving home environment. One of her favorite daily routines is sharing a couple bites of banana with her foster mom each morning — a sweet tradition that perfectly sums up her gentle, affectionate personality. Oakley is a loving, loyal companion who is ready to bring warmth, cuddles, and a whole lot of love to her forever home. Oakley’s requirements: * A secure physical fenced yard * Another friendly canine companion in the home Oakley is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, recently received a dental, and is on monthly heartworm prevention. Adoption fee: $400 Adoption information: Applications are processed by our volunteer team and typically take 7–10 business days. An approved application is required before scheduling a meet and greet. Meet and greets must be in person with all family members and resident dogs present. No transport or shipping is available — adopters must travel to the dog’s location in Decatur, IL. Dogs are a lifetime commitment and must be returned to Leia’s Hope if an adopter can no longer care for them. Applications available at leiashope.org.

Story
applications at leiashope.org Uno is a 4-month-old female Yorkie with a big personality packed into a tiny body. She may be small, but she’s mighty—Uno confidently chases and plays with the bigger dogs in her foster home and keeps right up with the action. She’s spunky, playful, and full of confidence, then happily curls up in the nearest cozy spot when playtime winds down. Uno is great with kids, enjoys cuddling, and loves having other dogs around to engage with. She prefers a home with a playful dog or children who will help keep her entertained. Despite her bold personality, she is not a barker or yappy at all. One thing she’s very clear about—she hates being cold and appreciates warm, comfy spots to snuggle into. She will require routine grooming to keep her Yorkie coat healthy and comfortable. We do not know her parents, so we cannot predict her adult size. Uno has a vet appointment scheduled for 12/19 and should be ready for her forever home shortly after. She will be current on age-appropriate vaccines and microchipped. Due to her young age, she is not yet spayed and will go home with a spay contract. Leia’s Hope will cover a portion of the spay cost when Uno is between 6–9 months of age. Adoption process details: Applications take approximately 7–10 business days to process. Meet and greets are scheduled only after an application is approved and require all family members (and resident dogs) to attend. Adopters must travel to Uno’s location; we do not provide transport or shipping. Yorkies like Uno are a long-term commitment—often 15 years or more—and adopters should be prepared to care for her for her entire life. Applications can be submitted at leiashope.org.

After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. Story
Figaro is an almost 10-year-old Maltese mix weighing 13.5 pounds. This little guy has clearly been through a lot in his life, and because of that he can be shy and a bit stand-offish when he first meets new people. He prefers to observe, take things in, and move at his own pace while he decides if the world feels safe. Once Figaro trusts you, though, his true personality shines. He has already bonded closely with one of our volunteers and will happily leap straight from the floor into her lap if she dares to stop giving him attention. When he’s comfortable, Figaro is a happy, affectionate boy who wants to be close to his person and soak up all the love. Figaro will need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let him set the pace, especially with things like grooming and other situations that make him nervous. Because he values his space and boundaries, we recommend a home without children, or with older kids who can be respectful and gentle with him. He would make a wonderful companion for a single woman, as he tends to be more nervous around men, though a calm and patient man could absolutely earn his trust as well. With understanding, consistency, and love, Figaro will reward his person with deep loyalty and a truly special bond. His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
