Story
7-year-old Male Yorkshire Terrier | 5 lbs Scooter is a tiny 5-pound, 7-year-old Yorkie with a gentle heart and a quiet soul. He is a former breeder dog, so he can be very shy at first. When meeting new people, Scooter may slowly back away until he feels safe. With patience and kindness, he quickly learns he can trust you—and once he does, he becomes a sweet little snuggle buddy. He does fit nicely in a satchel or carrying bag. Scooter is an exceptionally quiet dog. In fact, I’ve only heard him bark once since he’s been in my care. He loves to sit beside his person or curl up on a warm lap and simply enjoy being close. He does need to be watched as he has started lap guarding with the other dogs. When not protecting moms lap, he is great with other dogs and came in with Gertrude as a breeding pair. 🩺 Medical & Special Care Scooter has an eye condition with limited vision. Because of this, he currently requires two different eye drops twice daily. He handles his care well and is otherwise doing fine. He will have a recheck on Friday 1/30 to see if the eye drops help or if they are needed in the future. He gets around fine. Due to cold weather, Scooter currently refuses to go outside, so he wears a belly band and is not fully potty trained. If taken outside, he would need a secure fenced yard. A patient home that understands his background and is willing to continue working with very shy dogs will help him thrive. Fast movements are scary for breeder release dogs. 💙 Ideal Home Scooter would do best in a quiet, loving home with:    •   Patience and gentle handling    •   Another small dog companion    •   A calm environment, no kids.    •   Someone who enjoys a cuddly lap dog Once Scooter knows you’re safe, he will reward you with trust, affection, and the sweetest companionship. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 plus tax.

Story
Gertrude is a sweet but shy 7.5-lb Yorkie who has been released from a breeding situation and is now ready to experience the love she’s always deserved. Though timid at first, Gertrude blossoms once she feels safe. When trust is earned, she becomes a devoted snuggle buddy who enjoys sharing cuddles and companionship. She gets along well with other dogs and cats and is adorably curious—always wanting to know what’s going on around her. Gertrude is making progress with potty training but will need continued consistency to master it. She is working on learning to walk on a leash, though she will need a patient adopter willing to continue helping her build confidence. A securely fenced yard is required, as she is a flight risk and may try to dart out an open door. Careful door management will be important to keep this little girl safe. In order to thrive, Gertrude needs another dog in the home. Scared dogs like little Gertrude do better in adult only homes or with homes with older kids who will understand when the dog feels nervous and might need space. Fast movements are very scary for these breeder release dogs who have lived their life unsocialized. Gerty is a truly special pup just waiting for the right lap to fill! If you’re willing to be patient with her, she will reward you with so much love! Gertrude is having her teeth cleaned on Tuesday Feb. 3 and can be adopted that next weekend. Adoption fee: $350 + tax Apply to adopt: www.campcompanion.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Buddy – Your Dignified, Fetch-Loving Cuddle bug! Buddy is an 11-year-old yorkie that will follow you everywhere. Don’t let his age fool you—this distinguished gentleman still has plenty of pep in his step and absolutely adores playing fetch. Buddy is always up for a game and will happily trot back with pride. He is a big fan of the dog park and while being in new places can stress him out at first, he tends to adapt and relax quickly allowing everyone to enjoy themselves and pet him. He will also let you know if there a intruders/youths/neighbors or dogs near the house -perhaps casually walking by. Nothing gets past him. When playtime is over, Buddy is all about the snuggles and prefers to be in the same room as you, hopefully there is a comfy couch or bed there as well.  If you need a snuggle companion, look no further. Buddy wears belly bands in the house and like the dapper dude he is, takes it all in stride. He has been suffering from seizures however he is now on medication, and they are well under control. His condition will require lifelong management and medication, so his new owners will need to understand this and be committed to this maintenance. He would thrive in a home where he can enjoy short walks, cozy naps, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a mature pup who still knows how to have fun and melt hearts, Buddy might just be your perfect match. Buddy would be best in a home with a fenced yard and as an only dog. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal?
