At home, I'm a little bundle of joy, always eager to explore every nook and cranny. Whether I'm cuddling on the couch, zooming around the living room, or rolling in the grass, I'm living my best life! My favorite pastime? Barking at my arch-nemesis, Piggy the toy! But don't worry, I'm all love and sweetness, especially when it comes to the other dogs in my foster home. While I bark at specific toys and join in when the other dogs bark, I just can't contain my excitement sometimes. Speaking of barking (ha ha ... get it ... speaking), I do bark enough that it would be best if my forever home didn't have shared walls so I don't irritate the neighbors.  Potty training is going really well—I'm a quick learner and starting to do my business outside. I even know the magic words "outside" and "potty"! And while I'm still getting the hang of leash walking, I'm eager to learn and explore the world with my humans. If you promise to keep practicing leash training with me, I don’t need a fenced yard. I adore my teenage human brothers, but I haven't met younger kids yet. I'm confident and friendly, but I'd do best with older children who can handle me gently due to my tiny size. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. First things first, I'm a super sweet Yorkipoo with a heart of gold. I absolutely love people and I'm pretty smart too, if I do say so myself. My favorite thing in the world is cuddling up with you on the couch when I'm tired, and I'm definitely a bed hog – but I promise to keep your feet warm! I'm still learning how to greet other dogs without barking, once I get to say hi up close, I'm actually really friendly! Oh, and I have this thing about barking at animals on TV... I just can't help myself! I don't need another dog in my forever home as I can be a little possessive of my people and snarky with the dominate dog in my foster home. I would shine as your one and only.  Now, let's talk about my favorite activities. I absolutely love playing fetch – just throw a toy and I'll fetch it right back to you! I also enjoy my walks, although I do get a little nervous on busy streets, so my human usually carries me.  When it comes to potty training, I'm doing my best to get on a routine and am good on a schedule when the other dogs go outside. And speaking of walks, I'm doing pretty well on leash – with a little more practice with my forever family I know I will eventually be great. But here's the thing – I have really bad separation anxiety. Like, really bad. I bark and whine if my human tries to leave me alone in the house, so I need someone who can be with me most of the time. A retired person or someone who works from home would be perfect for me. So … this also means no shared walls for me so I don’t upset the neighbors. Despite my separation anxiety, I'm just the sweetest little guy you'll ever meet. I’m Janice, a beautiful adult female Yorkie who is very curious about everything, but I don’t like loud noises like thunderstorms, and I am timid around people. In fact, whenever I begin to get close to a person, I second-guess myself and back away. That said, I happily approach other dogs and I learn a lot from them so I would love to have a doggie companion at my new home. I am one of those independent, not-so-cuddly types but I do enjoy sitting next to mom while she gives me amazing ear scratches…on my terms of course! Hee, hee! I also will let her pick me up after I’ve run to my safe place (my bed) first! I know I’m quirky but that’s the beauty of me!! Anyway, my favorite activities include emptying the toybox to play with all my toys, eating food/treats, going for leashed walks, and simply spending time outside. Oh yeah, I also enjoy shredding paper or cardboard…I know, random right!?! Hee, hee!! I have not met any cats; I do fine with the kennel/crate; and in addition to asking mom to go outside, I will do my business on potty pads. I should mention that I can be a bit vocal if I’m home alone or the other dogs bark. However, I’m a smart little cookie who not only knows what “outside” means but I’ve learned that when foster mom says “no bark” that means I should use my indoor voice (hee, hee). I really am an incredibly sweet little girl who dreams of a fur-ever home of my own with YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving family that will NEVER give up on me. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Is your idea of having a dog donning visions of smaller lap dog who doesn’t have the intensity of a puppy yet holds your heart?  Look no further. I’m a senior gal so my energy is reserved for eating and sleeping.  I’m a bit shy upon first meeting but will eventually warm up and show my laid back lifestyle.  I’m a go-with-the-flow type girl unless another dog gets in my face.  I have no problem telling those youngsters to leave me alone (by growling which does the trick). My idea of a great day is to lay on/by your feet or in your lap.  Close enough that I can get pet.  You see I’m not into toys and really can leave outside off the docket if it wasn’t for needing to go to the bathroom.  I do need a fenced yard to make sure I don’t bolt. I also would need more practice on a leash but as I mentioned before, I’m ok just doing my business and coming back inside although I will try it if you are interested in teaching me leash manners.
