Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Cheyenne is an 8&#226&#128&#145pound Yorkie with a tender heart and a blossoming spirit. Deaf and recovering from past ear infections, she’s learning how to navigate the world with curiosity, courage, and the help of the dogs around her. After a rough start to life, she’s finally discovering what it means to feel safe—and her personality gets cuter every day as her confidence grows. When she first arrived, Cheyenne would hide, army crawl when approached, and bark anxiously in her crate. Now, she eagerly approaches the people she trusts, initiates contact and even warms up to new faces faster than expected. She still army crawls when picked up, but it’s clear she wants connection—she just needs time and patience to feel fully secure. Cheyenne absolutely adores other small dogs and learns best by watching and following their lead. A confident canine companion is essential for her continued progress. She also needs a home where someone is around most of the day; being alone, even briefly, is very stressful for her, and she will bark if she can’t see her people. Her silly side is emerging too—she dances on her hind legs at mealtime, proudly carries around toys, leaves, or bits of paper, and growls playfully to get your attention while wiggling her whole butt. She loves car rides and is a perfect passenger, and at night she sleeps curled up next to her foster mom, warm and content. Cheyenne is doing well with potty training on a schedule but still has accidents. She’s learning simple hand signals and would benefit from continued positive&#226&#128&#145reinforcement training tailored to her hearing impairment. A fenced yard is important so she can safely explore, sniff, and enjoy her surroundings. This gentle, goofy, affectionate little girl will thrive with a patient adopter, a calm home, and a friendly dog to show her the ropes. With time, love, and understanding, Cheyenne will reward her family with deep trust, sweet cuddles, and the joy of watching her continue to bloom. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU WILL FIND THE ANSWER TO ALL BASIC QUESTIONS BELOW. Please read carefully Before emailing. *If you have emailed using an “Apple ID” or other relay system you will Not recieve a response as they block Petfinder. All emails are answered within 24 hours. This dog is fostered near Crystal MN. Tiger is a darling 1 year old mixed breed guy. He weighs about 10 pounds currently. He is a total mystery mutt. Maybe a terrier type, maybe a poodle type, but it’s all a guess. Tiger lost his front leg after an unknown accident. He was found with a cast or bandage on the leg, and unfortunately, the leg had become gangrenous under the bandage. Tiger is sweet and friendly. He is good with other dogs. We do not know if he’s ever seen a cat. He’s could be nicely introduced in a new home. He has started to be house and crate trained. He may have accidents in a new home while he settles in. Tiger would do great in a basic training class to help bond with a new family too. A little time and he is going to be your very best friend. *Each pup is spayed or neutered and current on their vet cares. *We do not hold or reserve dogs. We do not ship or fly. Prospective families must come to the dogs location in MN to meet.* *Emails are answered in the order they are received. We are receiving a large number of emails, so answering promptly is our goal. If you are interested in adoption, your prompt responses are the best way to get through the adoption screening* *Adoption fees are payable in cash or money order only. No personal checks, credit cards / Square, etc. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DENY ADOPTIONS AT ANY POINT IN THE ADOPTION SCREENING PROCESS.* If you have read this far, you are ready to start the adoption process! Please email to get started.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Matcha is a sprinkle of sweetness who has decided that her full-time job on earth is to stick to her person like a warm, fuzzy piece of Velcro. If you take one step, she takes one step. If you blink, she blinks. If you leave the room, she begins drafting a formal complaint about abandonment. Matcha’s love language is simply called Being Near You At All Times.   At home, she’s a certified cuddle expert who wiggles her way into laps, snuggles with the resident dogs, and has recently discovered that doggie play might actually be fun. Out in the world she trots politely on a leash and floats along like a tiny, glamorous feather duster. Once she gets to know you, she will definitely charm you, but she is a little cautious when first meeting new people. It just takes her a bit of time to learn she can trust people. She’s food-motivated, easy to train, perfect for grooming and baths, and proudly potty trained—she’ll even march to the door to let you know it’s time.   But be warned: if Matcha cannot physically see her person, she believes the universe is collapsing. She will cry, bark, scratch, and exercise extreme persistence to find you. She simply loves too hard to be left alone. Because of this, she absolutely needs a home with no shared walls, and humans who can be home most or all of the time. While she definitely gets her point across when she is left alone, or if crated during the day, she is quiet otherwise; she's quiet as a mouse in her covered crate next to your bed at night, and when waiting patiently outside the bathroom while you shower, for example.     Matcha doesn’t ask for much—just your constant presence, a cozy lap, soft treats, and a fenced yard where she can take herself seriously while smelling all the smells. In return, she gives the most devoted, gentle, loyal love you’ll ever experience. Once Matcha chooses you, it’s precious, heartwarming, and forever. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Zander may be small in size, but he’s big on personality! This little Yorkie mix is a playful, fun-loving guy who loves to run, run, run—and then run some more. Backyard zoomies are his favorite pastime, and he’s happiest when he has a furry friend to keep up with. Zander thrives with other dogs and will need a doggie companion in his forever home to show him the ropes of indoor life and to join in his energetic play sessions. Zander is smart and extremely food motivated, which makes learning new tricks and commands a fun challenge. He’s still a bit shy with new people and can be cautious at first, but every day he gains more trust and confidence. With patience, love, and the right environment, he blossoms into a sweet, loyal little buddy. He loves small squeaky toys, chew bones, and anything that encourages playtime. Potty training is almost mastered when he stays on a schedule, and while leash walking is still a work in progress (he sometimes freezes when unsure), he’s crate trained and does wonderfully for car rides. Zander is affectionate, playful, and endlessly entertaining—a clever little guy who will fill your home with love, laughter, and the pitter-patter of tiny paws. He’s looking for a family that understands his need for a furry friend, is patient as he gains confidence with new people, and is ready for a lifetime of play, snuggles, and adventure. Good with dogs,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi! My name is Tula, and I am a 7 pound female yorkie and about 6 years old. I can’t wait until I go to my furever home. I am  very brave girl and getting used to living with people, in fact I like the company of people, but I will back away if you approach me. I am a little cautious, but foster mom says I am getting braver everyday!  I love puzzles and treat dispenser toys, but my all-time favorite treat is dried chicken hearts! Yummy! Other than being a little cautious in new situations, I don’t have any other big fears! I’ve never been around young children, but I’m sure I would love them just as much as I love my foster mom! I am working very hard on learning how to go potty outside, and I was doing great, but then it got so cold, and I can’t seem to spend enough time outside to be able to go potty without getting too cold! I am comfortable sleeping in my crate even though I get a little anxious when I first get in. I am not trained to walk on a leash, and I only go potty in my fenced backyard, so I told my foster mom to make sure my furever home has a fenced backyard. I like to bark when someone comes to the door just to make sure they are nice! I also like to bark at night sometimes, but not all the time! I have never been around cats, but am a gentle girl so we might be fine. I like to play with dogs sometimes but I get jealous of them so I'd probably be best as an only dog. Though I am cautious of you and who I play with, I know I am the sweet little girl you and your family have been looking for. I have so much love to give, and I can’t wait until I’m in my furever home singing along to my favorite song “That doggie in the Window?”. Sincerely, Tula Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.
