Meet Mama Sassy!This sweet little lady came to PCHS very pregnant and in need of some help. She was malnourished, infested with fleas, and was ready to give birth at any time. We got her some much needed medical help, treated her fleas, gave her some tasty food and provided her a warm and safe place to raise her pups. Now that her pups are weaned and 8 weeks old, it is time for Sassy to find her very own home! Sassy is still very young, under a year old in fact! She had her pups when she was only 9.5 months old and now at 11 months, Sassy is still very much a puppy herself! She does well on leash, enjoys attention from people, and loves chasing a ball or squeaky toy! Sassy is estimated to be a yorkie/Maltese mix, but we do not know for sure. He bonds closely and loves nothing more than being near his human. He’s curious and friendly with other dogs of all sizes, and he loves doing zoomies in the yard with them. He’s respectful of other dogs’ space, though he’ll politely tell overly pushy puppies to back off. He doesn’t need another dog in the home, but he truly thrives with a confident adult dog who can keep him company and help him feel secure. If he’s the only dog, he’ll need someone home most of the time — he’s happiest when he has companionship. Zander is extremely food&#226&#128&#145motivated and will be the first one at your feet when he hears the treat bag. He loves snacks of all kinds, including fruits and veggies, and mealtime is one of his favorite parts of the day. He enjoys toys, loves to run, and does hilarious high jumps when he gets the zoomies. He’s potty trained on a schedule and crate trained, though he’s still working on being fully comfortable in the crate and may have accidents in it. He freezes on a leash and will not reliably potty while leashed, so a fenced yard is required for him. He loves car rides and will curl up in a blanket, happy just to be along for the adventure. Zander is affectionate, gentle, even&#226&#128&#145tempered, and eager to please. When you stop petting him, he’ll look up at you like, “Why did you stop?” — especially if you were scratching right above his tail, his favorite spot. He’s a sweet, loyal little guy who just wants a person to follow, a yard to zoom in, and a home where he can feel safe and loved. Since arriving in foster care, she has completely come out of her shell—this once&#226&#128&#145shy girl is now confident, playful, and full of joy. She zips off the tops of furniture, chases toys with enthusiasm, chews happily on her doggy bones, and absolutely adores her foster sister. When playtime is over, she transforms right back into a master cuddle bug and the best little buddy you could ask for. She’s gentle, affectionate, and eager to please, with a sweet, loyal nature that makes her easy to love. Matcha is fully potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and rides well in the car. She knows several commands—Sit, Come, Stay, Down, Leave It, Go Potty, and more—and she’s a smart little lady who enjoys learning. He’s the kind of dog who chooses his moments — he loves to snuggle, but always on his own terms, picking the perfect time and place to curl up beside you. He has two favorite napping spots: by the door and in his cozy corner. He also enjoys sitting on the couch to “watch TV,” though he usually falls asleep almost immediately. At home, he loves cuddling with his foster siblings, often forming an adorable little Yorkie pile. He’s shy with strangers and will retreat to his bed when new people visit, but with his trusted humans he’s sweet, gentle, and devoted. Blanket isn’t much of a toy player, but he loves food — any kind of food. He runs like a puppy when he hears a snack bag open, especially Cheez&#226&#128&#145Its. He also takes his role as bathroom bodyguard very seriously, following his foster mom and keeping watch while she gets ready for the day. He’s working on potty training again after losing some progress during the winter, and he’s still learning leash skills — he tends to freeze when the leash goes on. World…meet Remi and her sister Gizmo! These two are a bonded pair and for their emotional well-being, they must be adopted together. Remi is 6 lbs. of sass and she is certain it is her job to protect her sister Gizmo. And don’t.tell.her.any.different – humph!  She enjoys the finer things in life; sleeping in bed, a warm sweater (maybe one that says ‘Security’?), and a good blanket. She patiently waits for you to notice and appreciate her. She is truly a companion, wanting to be with you, no matter what you may be doing. She enjoys playing with her sister, other dogs, and toys.  She's always all in for a good wrestling match. And if you could follow that with a treat, she'll follow you to the ends of the earth! A few other facts about Remi: She is house trained. She is kennel trained, as long as she is kenneled with her sister Gizmo. She does have a voice and will use it, so shared walls are not recommended for Miss Remi.  Notes about Remi & Gizmo as a dynamic duo: They are still learning new experiences but have room for growth. They need a patient forever home who will be dedicated to allowing them to blossom on their own timeline. They have been working on meeting other dogs on leash. These sisters function as a cohesive unit and are quick to come to the others aid.  One of the best things about this pair is you don't need to worry about leaving them at home.  They enjoy each other's company and will also anticipate your homecoming!
