He hasn't had a lot of human love or contact, but he doesn't seem to mind it. He does enjoy a good petting session. He is slowly warming up to people and starting to relax and feel safe.  He rides in a car well and settles in nicely in his crate. He is scheduled to be neutered and will begin heart worm treatment soon. Medications will still be provided once he is adopted. He is great with both dogs and cats. He has some arthritis but is pretty spunky. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Malin is a well-mannered 7lb neutered male rescued from a hoarder/breeder situation. He is very sweet, quiet, and loves affection.  He likes going on short walks and does extremely well on a leash.  Being a senior, he does nap a lot, but while awake will want to be close to his human.  Due to his age, he would do best in a home without stairs.  Please consider giving Malin a forever home.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 5, 2024, 9:33 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Sweet Pippy arrived at Pawfect Match after being seized from a horrible hoarding situation.  She is a senior girl and is heartworm positive.  She now responds to Bella, and we are discovering her personality little by little. Bella seems to bond better with women than men, and we believe her ideal living situation would be a single living woman that has some previous experience with small dogs.  Her favorite activity is cuddle with her favorite person. She is crate trained and rides well in the car. She is also house trained.  This lady has been through a lot, and had a dental done, so only wet food for her! She likes it more and it's easier to eat. She loves to eat now that she was switched to soft food.  She is good with other dogs.  She really enjoys running in the yard and playing with all of the other dogs.  We have began her slow kill heartworm treatment and will continue to supply the meds for that after adoption until the treatment is complete.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 5, 2024, 9:33 pm

Story
This little senior pup’s name is Subaru. He was born in Japan but raised in America. My father loved Subaru very much but wasn’t a believer of taking him to the vet - my father believed that animals should live a more natural life. Due to this, I do believe he has some health concerns that I cannot afford. Unfortunately, I do not know the last time he was at the vet. Subaru is a strict inside dog though. My father is no longer here anymore and I, the daughter, have been trying to find a loving home for this human loving, socially awkward, derby, and sweet little doggy. As much as Subaru was such a loving companion to my father, I am unfortunately not in spot of my life to be able to financially support and/or give him a loving home. I am currently attending my first year as a nursing student and will be very busy throughout the week with very little income. He deserves to spend the rest of his years in a loving home with a family/individual that lets him know he is loved. Please.

Story
PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH BEFORE APPLYING!Charlie is a 6 year old Maltese-Poodle mix who had a very sad start to life. He came from a home where the humans treated him very poorly, and because of this, he has had to learn what being a normal dog is actually like, which is a long term process. Charlie has been with the rescue for 2 years and has shown immense progress in that time. Charlie understandably has trust issues, which leads to fearful and anxious responses in stressful situations, including biting in the past. Charlie does very well around other dogs and small children. It’s adult humans that Charlie is skeptical of, but he tends to be excited and happy to meet new people these days, and readily accepts pets and scritches from strangers. At his core, Charlie is a happy-go-lucky circus dog. He is vibrant, outgoing, and he has responded well to his etiquette training and knows to wait for permission to approach his food or go out an open door. He loves going for walks, and does well on a leash when in familiar surroundings, but he can get anxious around new people and in new places, and may start pulling and not responding to voice commands and corrections, but this is improving as he gains exposure to the world at large. Charlie is also completely house trained and crate trained. The crate has been where Charlie seeks out safety and comfort, but as time passes and his confidence grows, he quite often leaves the safety of the crate and seeks out the company of humans. He wants to cuddle as much as any good dog does, but he still feels awkward about it at times. These days, he is happy to curl up next to his favorite human and snooze away. One consideration with Charlie is his need to be groomed regularly. Charlie can be a very fluffy boy, so grooming is essential, and should be done every 3 to 6 months. Charlie does not enjoy the experience at present, so it is best to have him sedated and groomed by a professional. At present, he won’t allow me to cut his nails or brush his teeth. Strangely enough, he does just fine with baths. Charlie absolutely has to go to a home with someone who is knowledgeable and comfortable with fearful dogs and the behaviors that come with that. He needs a home where everyone is committed to helping him learn that humans won't hurt him. This forever family has to be patient with him and let him have his time to decompress and slowly come to them when he is ready. His owners will have to be committed to getting Charlie the training and support he needs to feel confident and safe again. Because of how fearful he is, training should focus on positive reinforcement and building trust and not punishment. If you are interested in this animal please start by filling out an adoption application at http://www.CFP-NC.org/adoptions and we will get in touch with you.
