You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs on our website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs.  Please submit an application now! The link to our application is at    https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC.        Meet Hannah: A 10 year old Yorkshire/ Chi mix.   Hannah is a lovable, sweet, and affectionate dog who’s ready to find a family that will continue to help her blossom into the confident, happy pup she was always meant to be. She may be timid at first, but with patience and love, Hannah will show you the beautiful depth of her heart. Hannah is crate trained and loves her "den"—she’ll often sleep in her crate with the door open, content and cozy. She’s also housebroken and enjoys spending time outdoors in the yard, we take her out five times a day to stretch her legs and explore her world. Despite her love for the great outdoors, Hannah has a low energy level and is equally content to relax indoors with her family.   While she’s still working on leash training, Hannah is making progress. At first, she was fearful of the leash and would lie down while on it, but with time, she’s building her confidence and learning to walk.  A fenced-in yard would be ideal for Hannah, especially because of her current leash skills. As she continues to grow, she’ll make a wonderful walking companion! Hannah would do well in a home with a calm dog to help boost her confidence. She’s a little vocal when it comes to sharing space with our dogs, but it’s all part of her process of feeling comfortable and secure. She’s also shown that she can be independent if needed and could do fine with an adopter who works away from the home during the day, especially if there’s another dog to keep her company.  She has had positive interactions with other dogs but has not been around children or cats. She’s generally a quiet dog, but can be vocal at times when she’s feeling talkative. Because she’s still a bit shy, a calm, understanding home would be the perfect environment for her to continue to grow. Why adopt Hannah? Because this sweet girl is filled with potential, and she’s looking for a family who will embrace her gentle nature and help her come out of her shell. She’s affectionate, loving, and with a little patience, will become your loyal, sweet companion. If you're ready to offer a loving home to a dog who truly deserves it, Hannah will reward you with a lifetime of love and gratitude. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:   Hannah was surrendered by her owner due to illness.  She lived her whole life with one family and is now looking for a new forever home. Best Friend Pet Adoption has checked her vet care and is now up to date with all medical care.  Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants should live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore prefer applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.  For the right perfect home for Hannah, we may  consider applicants who live a litter further.  INTERESTED IN ADOPTING HANNAH?  If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window:  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 12, 2025, 3:10 pm

Story
Beya is a 2 year old, 15 lb. Maltese/Poodle mix. Beya had a very rough start in life and is now learning to trust people and how to be a dog. This sweet girl just needs some time and patience to come out of her shell and trust again. But she is well worth the wait! Once comfortable, Beya will cuddle up next to you and is so snuggly - it's precious to watch! Beya is blossoming in her foster home and has mastered crate and potty training. She does well with her routine and hopes to continue it and be successful in her forever home one day! Beya is still learning that leashes aren't so scary and is enjoying walks in her neighborhood. She also has enjoyed the company of her calmer foster dog sibling and will wake her up to play in the morning! She would love to find a home where she is either an only pet or has a calm, patient canine buddy to play with! Beya does have a lot of energy when she gets comfortable and loves to run around and play in her yard. She is loving these fun new things her foster mom calls "toys" and enjoys the plush and squeaky ones the most! They are so fun to play with and snuggle with and she hopes her forever home will have lots of them she can enjoy! Beya can't wait to find her happily ever after and grow up with a family who will cherish her and bring out the best in her!
