Story
We have a transport where we will be personally driving our dogs home leaving on 1/2/26 to NorCal, OR, and WA. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Daisy Mae and Fae to our trip for the right home/homes! Daisy Mae and Fae are sweet little sisters—Yorkie/Maltese mixes (Morkies)—born on 7/15/25, and already bringing so much joy into our days. These girls are happy, confident, and full of life, with tails that never stop wagging and hearts that are clearly meant to love deeply. They currently weigh 5–6 lbs each, and we expect them to mature around 10–12 lbs full grown. Both girls will be fully up to date on vaccines upon their adoption, including DA2PP, Bordetella, and Rabies. They have already received fecal testing (we had a fecal test sent to the lab to check for any worms and the results came back negative to all of them,) are both microchipped, and have been issued an official health certificate from our veterinarian that will go home with them. Because they are still very young, they will be placed on spay contracts, allowing them to reach full physical maturity before sterilization—this is the healthiest choice for their long-term wellbeing. Although Daisy Mae and Fae are sisters, they are not being adopted together. They are wonderfully independent from one another and will absolutely flourish as the cherished princess in their own homes. That said, they are great with other dogs, would enjoy a playful canine companion, and were raised with a cat—so a kitty friend would be just fine too. Their story began with a family who loved them dearly and had them from just 8 weeks old. A trusted family friend owned the parents, and the intention was for the girls to grow up together. Unfortunately, as life and schedules became overwhelming, it became clear that raising two puppies properly required more time and structure than they could give. Wanting to do right by the girls and avoid making a rushed or unsafe rehoming decision, they reached out to us so Daisy Mae and Fae could have the very best chance at finding the right homes this time around. These girls are pure joy. They love to play—with toys, with each other, and especially with their people. They are affectionate, social, attentive (even at such a young age), and very well-handled. They adore being held and genuinely enjoy snuggle time—those cuddle sessions are the real deal. They were raised with love, consistency, and attention, and it truly shows in their temperaments. They are pad trained and clearly understand how to use them, while also learning a consistent outdoor potty schedule. We strongly recommend continuing both to support their progress and prevent any setbacks. Leash training will be new, but these little socialites are eager explorers, and it will quickly become another fun adventure for them. At night, they are transitioning from an open play yard with a bed to an enclosed crate, and they are adjusting very well. Whoever is lucky enough to add Daisy Mae or Fae to their life will be gaining a devoted companion—a little soul who will love deeply, trust fully, and bring joy every single day. Their adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of their adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/daisy-mae-fae-1 This fee covers their vaccines, fecal testing, exam with our veterinarian, microchip/registarion, health certificate, and grooming costs once both girls recieve their final vaccines. With puppies, the majority of care and cost happens early and all at once. In a very short period of time, they require multiple rounds of vaccines, fecal testing and potential treatments, microchipping, frequent veterinary visits, health certificates, and constant monitoring during critical developmental stages. Beyond medical care, puppies need daily structure, hands-on potty training, crate introduction, socialization, and consistent routines to help shape them into stable, confident adult dogs. While adult dogs leave us with completed medical procedures such as spay or neuter already done, puppies require everything to be built from the ground up—medically, behaviorally, and emotionally. The time, care, and resources invested during these early months are significant, which is why puppy adoption fees often reflect a level similar to adult dogs. That investment ensures each puppy leaves healthy, well-started, and fully supported as they transition into their forever home.

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally driving our dogs home leaving on 1/2/26 to NorCal, OR, and WA. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Eevee to our trip for the right home! Eevee is a purebred Yorkshire Terrier born on 11/22/24, and she truly lives up to her nickname — a tiny little bean 🫘 with the gentlest, most tender soul. She currently weighs 4.5 lbs. Yes, she is full grown and at a very healthy weight 💕 From the moment Eevee entered our care, it was clear that she is something truly special. She is calm, soft-hearted, loving, and naturally serene — not high energy in the slightest. Eevee has a quiet presence that feels soothing and grounding. She prefers closeness over chaos, companionship over commotion, and gentle affection over constant stimulation. She is happiest simply being near her person, soaking in love and offering it back effortlessly. Eevee is a sweetheart in every sense of the word. She is gentle with her body, her movements, and her heart. She enjoys being held, carried, and cuddled, and she forms deep bonds with her people. Her temperament is steady, peaceful, and incredibly endearing, making her an ideal companion for someone seeking a calm, nurturing relationship with their dog. She does wonderfully with other dogs, though due to her very small size, we keep her interactions limited to dogs close in size to ensure her safety and comfort. Eevee is crate trained, though she currently sleeps in an enclosed area with her bed at night and does beautifully with that routine. She is flexible and will adapt easily to whatever sleeping arrangement her new home prefers. Leash training is brand new for Eevee, as her prior owners carried her everywhere, but she is approaching it with patience and curiosity and is already learning that the world can feel safe from the ground as well. With consistency and gentle guidance, she will continue to build confidence. Eevee is pad trained and understands them very well. She will also potty outside when accompanied and supported and will thrive with a consistent schedule if outdoor pottying is preferred. She is equally content continuing to use pads in the home, making her adaptable to many living situations. Eevee is excellent at the groomers and handles grooming routines with calm cooperation, making coat maintenance a positive experience rather than a stressful one. She also loves road trips of any length and settles beautifully in the car, whether it’s a short errand or a long journey. She is the kind of companion who is happy simply being along for the ride. Eevee came to us deeply loved. Her previous owner adored her immensely, but between running a business and managing children’s busy sports schedules before and after school, life became increasingly fast-paced. Wanting the very best for Eevee — and never wanting her to feel alone or overlooked — they made the selfless decision to entrust her to us so she could find a home where her time, attention, and gentle heart could be fully cherished. Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/eevee It covers her spay, vaccines, microchip and registration, veterinary exam, and the months of care, grooming, training, and love she has received while with us. Eevee has been officially cleared by our veterinarian for adoption. Eevee is a rare and precious little soul — calm, devoted, affectionate, and endlessly loving. She is ready for a home that moves gently through life, values quiet moments, and understands the beauty of a dog whose greatest joy is simply being close to the person she loves. 💕 Photos are before and after her spa day 💕

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally driving our dogs home leaving on 1/2/26 to NorCal, OR, and WA. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Benny to our trip for the right home! Some puppies simply have “it” — that gentle spark, that intuitive sweetness, that soft, loving presence that wraps around you the moment they crawl into your arms. Benny is one of those rare little souls. Even at such a young age, he carries a calm confidence and an emotional awareness that feels far beyond his months. He came to us from a home where he was deeply loved and spoiled in the best ways, and you can feel that history in how connected he is to people. The devotion he offers is pure, immediate, and full-hearted. His journey to us was a tender one. His prior owner adored him and struggled tremendously with the decision to surrender him. A sudden breakup and the need to return to full-time work meant Benny would no longer have the companionship he was accustomed to — and she knew that wouldn’t be fair to him. She chose the selfless path, asking us to take him in and ensure he found a home where he could continue to be someone’s whole world. Because that is exactly what Benny is meant to be: a true companion, a shadow, a love-at-your-side kind of dog. He is incredibly smart — shockingly so for his age — and don’t let his size fool you. When you call “Benny!”, you hear his little paws pattering toward you from wherever he is, bursting with excitement just to be close. His heart lives for connection. And he is doing phenomenal at his house training — truly remarkable for a puppy his age. He goes outside every couple of hours to use the restroom, and due to his tiny size, he is always supervised for his safety. He’s attentive, willing, and eager to learn, which makes him such a joy in a structured home. He is a snuggler to his core, happiest pressed against your chest or curled at your side. Sleeping in bed with his person is one of the joys of his life, so if dogs in the bed aren’t your thing, he may not be the right fit. His previous owner let him be her cuddle buddy, and that comfort has shaped who he is. He’s the kind of dog who wants to wake up with his head on your pillow and fall asleep knowing you’re right there. Crates, though, are not his preference. We believe it’s the feeling of confinement — after being so bonded to his person his whole life, he simply doesn’t understand being separated or closed away. He isn’t destructive, and he isn’t mischievous; he just thrives when he’s near the people he loves. Being kept apart feels foreign to him, and we want to honor the emotional safety he has built through closeness, not separation. He LOVES his beds — so much so that we keep one in every space he spends time in. He’ll flop into them dramatically, roll on his back, or tuck himself in like a tiny burrito. In the car, he enjoys looking out the window, taking in the world with those big expressive eyes. And at the groomer? He’s an absolute dream. Being pampered suits him, and he handles grooming like a seasoned professional. Leash training hasn’t begun yet, as we needed to make sure all his vaccines were fully current before introducing him to the outside world. Now that he’s officially cleared, his new world is opening up — and with his eager-to-please personality, we have no doubt he’ll take to leash training beautifully and naturally. On the health side, Benny was born 5/22/25 and is completely current on everything age-appropriate. He has had a great full exam with our vet, is microchipped, has had his deworming based on fecal results sent to the lab, and is going home with a health certificate showing he has been fully cleared for adoption. He weighs 5.5 lbs currently and is expected to be around 10–12 lbs full grown. He is a purebred Maltese, and everything about him — his coat, his temperament, his expression — reflects the sweetness and refinement of his breed. Because he is still so young, he will be going home on a neuter contract, as it is important to allow him time to grow and mature before being fixed. What Benny needs most is someone who truly wants a companion. Someone who loves a dog that follows them from room to room, listens for their voice, and melts into their lap the moment they sit down. He thrives on closeness and emotional connection. He is eager to please, affectionate, and has one of those soft, intuitive personalities that simply makes a home feel warmer. If you’re looking for a sweet soul who will meet you at the door every day with his whole heart shining in his eyes, Benny is waiting for you. His adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/benny which covers all of his veterinary care to date (including vaccines, microchip/registration, fecal testing, deworming, his full exam, and his issued health certificate), as well as the months of care, meals, grooming upkeep, and training he has received with us. Every adoption directly supports our ability to continue rescuing and preparing dogs like Benny for the beautiful lives they deserve.

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally driving our dogs home leaving on 1/2/26 to NorCal, OR, and WA. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Arlo to our trip for the right home 💙 Arlo came to us because the people who loved him recognized something very important — love alone wasn’t enough if they could no longer keep up with the care and needs of a young dog. Wanting only the best for him, they made the selfless decision to ask us to help find a family who could truly give him the full, active, connected life he deserves. That kind of love already tells you so much about who Arlo is and what he’s been surrounded by. Born on 10/29/24, Arlo is a Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie mix) with a beautiful straight-to-wavy hypoallergenic coat. He weighs just over 13 pounds, is fully grown, and sits at a very healthy, balanced weight. He came to us with a docked tail, which was done prior to his arrival. From a medical standpoint, Arlo has received excellent care — he is neutered, microchipped, current on all vaccines, and recently had a dental cleaning and polish, along with the removal of a few retained baby teeth that never fell out on their own. His exam went perfectly, and he has been fully cleared by our veterinarian to begin the journey toward finding a home all his own. In the home, Arlo is an absolute joy. He is house trained and does very well on a consistent schedule, going outside every couple of hours. He is also crate trained and currently sleeps peacefully through the night in his crate without issue. That said, Arlo loves closeness and connection — if his future family prefers a cozy dog bed or having him sleep in bed with them, he would be more than happy knowing that closeness lasted all night long. Arlo is wonderful with our groomers and truly enjoys being doted on. He especially loves coming home after a fresh groom — strutting with that extra confidence because he knows he’s handsome and feels good 💙 Regular grooming has been a positive experience for him, making ongoing coat care in his next home something he will continue to handle with ease. Social, affectionate, and deeply people-oriented, Arlo is wonderful with other dogs and enjoys running and playing with them. However, when his person is around, that’s where his heart truly lies. He bonds deeply and thrives on being someone’s companion and center of the world. He would be perfectly content as an only dog soaking up that connection, but he is also more than capable of sharing life with another sweet canine friend if that’s the right fit 💙 Arlo is also excellent on road trips and would make an amazing traveling partner for anyone looking for a buddy to share life beyond the home. Whether it’s a longer adventure or something as simple as running to the post office 😂, Arlo is happiest when he’s along for the ride and part of whatever the day brings. He has excellent house manners, is leash trained, and genuinely enjoys his walks — especially because he’s a very social boy who likes being out in the world. He is not a barker, but he will politely alert you if something unfamiliar catches his attention. Overall, he carries himself with a calm, loving presence and a gentle confidence that makes him easy to live with and even easier to love. At his core, Arlo is a total sweetheart with a heart of gold. He’s waiting for someone to choose him — to make him part of their everyday life, their routines, their quiet moments, and their adventures. If you’ve been looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to love and be loved in return, Arlo may be the one meant for you 💕 Adoption Fee is on our website at the bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/_arlo This covers Arlo’s neuter, vaccines, microchip, dental cleaning and polish (including baby teeth removal), veterinary exams, as well as the months of care, grooming, and training he has received while with us.
