Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello, My Name is Eliana, I am a 4 year old yorkie looking for a forever home. I weighed in at 8.12 lbs and came into rescue due to my mom having health issues. I am a healthy girl and finished my vetting a bit ago, but have been working on my emotional healing that will be an ongoing process. I am crate trained and house trained. (With the exception of when I get scared. I do leak pee) I‘m learning to walk on a leash so a fenced yard is a must. I love to go on car rides, love other dogs, and to play with toys. I do love to be cuddled but, on my terms, and when I want. If you come at me too quickly, I tinkle. My foster mom is always asking what happened to make me so scared, and I just look at her and wag my tail. I love toys, especially the ones that squeak. I toss them around and squeak them as often as I can. I also love treats.... they are my favorite thing ever. I can't tell what my past was like, but in a calm home with a patient family, I will come around and blossom with time. Can you be my forever family!?! To adopt Eliana, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation ($250 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, microchip, bloodwork, spay, dental, and all the love you can handle! Story
My mom is Muffin's owner. I am her son. Mom just moved into independent living from a townhouse. Muffin is 14 years old. Dr. Mimnaugh is her vet. We hoped that the move would work for Muffin and Mom but the challenge of taking Muffin out for walks and bathroom breaks up and down steps and long hallways is too much. Muffin is a sweet, peaceful , aging dog but has no significant problems. It is hard for my Mom to make this decision but is in the best interest of both Mom and Muffin. I am available for questions. We hope we find someone who loves dogs and will care for Muffin. It will provide comfort to my Mom and our family.

Story
Isn’t this just the sweetest little face? This adorable little girl is looking for a new lap to keep warm. Since the cold weather has arrived, I know someone has to be looking for a little love bug like her to do just that. She loves hanging out with her family, keeping laps warm, being on the receiving end of lots of hugs and kisses and being spoiled. She is very sweet, very good natured and pretty spunky. Lila gets along great with all of my little foster dogs and my small personal dogs as well…actually she has fit right in with all of them every since day one. All I want for her is to be adopted by a wonderful family that will treat her like a princess and include her in all of their activities and daily comings and goings. At 10 years old, she is a little older, but she still has lots of love to give and lots of life ahead of her. Because she is on the smaller side, no small kids. Lila weighs 10 ½ pounds, has been spayed, 4DX heartworm tested, microchipped, had a dental, fecal tested, is current on all vaccinations, worming, heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $400. Lila is being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted she will be transported to her pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Our rescue ships to the Northeast area every week and her fee includes transportation. Due to state laws, we cannot accept applications from residents of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Maine since we can’t adopt directly to those states.

Story
Karlee is a sweet and sassy 4-year-old Yorkie who knows exactly how to steal hearts. Fully housebroken and crate trained (though she’ll happily remind you she’s a princess when asked to use it), Karlee loves curling up in bed with her foster parents or lounging on the couch, which she considers her royal throne. She enjoys going for walks, especially when the weather is warm, but prefers shorter strolls in the winter since the cold isn’t her style. Karlee is wonderfully social and gets along with dogs, cats, and kids who understand how to respect her space. True to her Yorkie nature, she bonds deeply with her chosen person and will shower them with loyalty, while the rest of the household becomes her royal court. While in the care of Zoe’s House, Karlee had non-cancerous tumors removed from her ears. She has recovered well, but potential adopters should be aware that there is a chance these growths could return in the future and may require monitoring or treatment. Karlee is spayed, up to date on shots, and ready to move into her forever castle. Because of food allergies, she thrives on lamb or salmon diets and insists her kibble be mixed with wet food—otherwise she’ll turn up her nose like the princess she is. With her sparkling personality, affectionate nature, and love for cozy cuddles, Karlee is ready to reign supreme in a home that will pamper her the way she deserves. Karlee is currently being fostered in Columbia, Lancaster County PA. Interested adopters must be willing to travel for potential meet and greets. DOB 4-24-2025 Izzie is looking for a Mom! She is a baby that likes to stay close, a 24 hour girl. Izzie is social, loves to play, gets along great with others and wants to be an important part of her future home. She will be between 7 and 8 pounds, has a natural tail and gorgeous ears with a cute little face. She is very smart and focused. She is up to date on all medical, spayed, heartworm negative and has received a ProHeart6 heartworm preventative infection. Her adoption fee is 900.00 and her transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC they leave every other Friday to deliver their stops on Saturday to the East Coast The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Well can I just say I LOVE the ranch!!  My last house had 148 dogs and it was REALLY nasty!!!  The authorities finally came and got us all!!  Here at the ranch I get spa days and the food is real good and we have a huge field to play in!!  My best friend is Layla.  She is really scared so I stay close to her so she feels safe and hopefully at some point she will start to trust humans again.  The volunteers are really nice.  They hold us and talk to us and its VERY different from what we were used to!  Mom says she is going to attach some pics of where we lived but I am happy to forget all about that and enjoy life. REQUIREMENTS to adopt GiGi MUST HAVE ANOTHER SMALL DOG MUST HAVE A FENCED YARDVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
