Story
Emmie was surrendered by a breeder to Sunny Meadows at age 6. She had reached the age to no longer endure biannual breedings. Shortly after, my parents adopted her, and she has been well loved for the past 6 years! Now at 12 years old, Emmie is a gentle, sweet dog who is shy and will require a patient and loving owner. With my stepdad’s recent passing and my elderly mother no longer able to care for her, we are seeking someone who can provide Emmie with the attention and consistency she deserves. She primarily uses potty pads indoors and may have occasional accidents, so someone who is understanding and committed to helping her adjust would be ideal. Emmie has so much love to give and would thrive in a home where she feels safe, cared for, and loved.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Marshall County Humane Society requires an appointment to show an animal since we are all volunteer. We also require a home visit before finalizing adoption to check the security of your fence if you are adopting a dog. We only adopt to areas within 125 mi. of Holly Springs MS. Our dogs are given much care and attention and we want to make sure they are in a safe and secure environment. We are a limited intake adoption center and a non-profit organization. Our animals have been spayed/neutered & are up to date on shots. Our standard Dog adoption fee is $150 which includes a microchip. We sometimes make exceptions to standard fee for those with extra medical care. Our Cat adoption fee is $95.00. Ace is an approx 10year old either shih tzu or lhasa apso. He was found hanging out at the bike sculpture arch at Overton Park. His microchip was a dead end, he could not be connected to his original adopter but he came from Memphis Animal Shelter. ACe is a bit grumpy about getting a slip lead on but he LOVES to go for a walk and spend time outside. Im hoping as he gets more used to his environment I can easily get a harness on him so we can walk. He is a very quiet dog and is fine being in the same home with other dogs. Ace has a real issue with anything that needs to happen on his face or head. He has had an ear hematoma and we have to sedate him for the vet to check his ears and eyes.
