Story
Sweet senior looking for a lap to snuggle in! Loki is a 10 to 12 year old. 11 pound Yorkshire Terrier. He is current on shots, neutered, microchipped and heartworm negative. He's kennel trained and we're working on potty training. He's almost there. Loki recently had his teeth cleaned and several were extracted. He's still able to eat small sized kibble and really likes his groceries and treats. . Although Loki is an older boy, he is quite active. He found the toy box on his first day and introduced himself to all the other dogs in his foster home. He did well from the smallest dog to the largest. While Loki may not hear very well, if at all, he makes up for it with his great personality. Loki is hoping to find a lap to snuggle in and a person to keep company, is that you? If you think you and Loki might be a good match, please submit your application. Applications are found under the How to Adopt menu on our website at www.myhappytail.org or by copying this link into your browser: https://form.jotform.com/201527297286058

Story
Hi, I’m Butterfly!I’m finally ready to spread my wings and land somewhere soft, cozy, and full of love!My journey hasn’t been the easiest. I was found wandering as a stray and spent over a month at a vet clinic waiting for someone to come claim me… but no one ever did. Then I moved to the shelter, still hoping someone would recognize me. Unfortunately, no luck there either. But I’m looking forward now — not back — and dreaming of a home where I can just be me. I’m not a snugglebug, more of a “roommates who watch the same shows” kind of gal. You do your thing, I’ll do mine, and we’ll vibe in shared silence. I’ll sit beside you while we binge Love Island, Gilmore Girls, or Friends!?I have very specific tastes. Freshpet roll? Yes, please. Anything else? Meh — I’ll nibble, then walk away. Treats are always welcome, though! And if you share a pizza crust, expect a sassy side-eye that says, “Took you long enough.” I might not hear or see perfectly, but trust me — I know when the snack bag opens.I don’t bark much unless I want back inside, and I only snore softly like the classy lady I am.Honestly, it’s kind of cute. I love exploring (on a leash, please — I will wander off if left to my own devices).Like most seniors, I’ve got a few quirks. My hearing is spotty (maybe by choice), my eyesight’s not perfect, I don't have very little (if any) top teeth, and I do best with frequent potty breaks. If I gotta go, I go — but I sleep with a washable wee pad nearby just in case.I came to rescue very matted, and I’m not exactly cooperative with grooming yet… but I’m trying. Through it all, I am worth it — because when I gift you a little tail nub wag or a rare kiss of gratitude, it feels like magic.I may be a work in progress, but I still have plenty of charm to share. Think we’d be a good match? To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

My adoption fee has been paid thanks to a generous donor.--❤️ Everett’s Glow-Up: Feeling Better and Ready for Love! 🐾We are so thrilled to share how amazing Everett is doing since his eye surgery! When he first came to us, his eyes were severely infected and causing constant pain. But now that they’ve been removed, Everett is finally comfortable and thriving. His sweet personality is shining brighter than ever!Everett is fantastic with dogs, cats, and kids. He is gentle, calm, and loves nothing more than to snuggle up on the couch or curl up in bed at night. He’s not a fan of crates or pens, but when allowed to free-roam, he’s relaxed and happy. He’s also working hard on his house training. His foster mom says he’s making great progress, especially when kept on a schedule and watched for his cues (like pacing when he needs to go outside).Everett proves that blind dogs can live full and joyful lives. And thanks to a generous donor, his adoption fee is fully sponsored! Now all he needs is a loving forever home where he can feel safe and adored. If you’re ready to give Everett the happy ending he deserves, apply today at mamanutmeg.org! 🐶❤️

Story
Meet Trixie, a beautiful 10 year old, 4 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in Georgetown, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered This doll baby is Trixie who is all of 4lbs, 10 years old and the sweetest, most gentle soul you will ever love. You would never know looking at her that she was found in a field in the 90 degree heat and brought to a shelter with no one to claim her. She has been with UYR for a week and and is already fitting in with her foster brother and sisters, even a 60 lb Old English Sheepdog..(she sneaks in next to sheepdog and snuggles next to her for a nap). Very little barking, foster siblings taught her to bark at the front door. Trixie didn’t know how to make a sound until then. lol. When she is finished with her vetting she will have her dental and vaccines.. Oh by the way, totally potty trained. If you think Trixie will be a wonderful family member please complete the application below or email foster mom at uyrtxbets@gmail.com if you would like more information on this precious girl.

Story
Meet Maverick, an adorable 7 year old (est), 10 pound Yorkie boy being fostered in Georgetown, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Pupdate: I'm so looking forward to my new furever home and my new family! I know you're out there looking for me! I'm the easiest little guy ever! I love to go for walks on a leash, chase squirrels in the backyard, and follow you all over the house. I get along with everyone! Big people, little people, big dogs, little dogs and even cats! Please fill out the adoption application and come get me! I'm so excited to meet you and begin my furever happy ending! XXXXOOOO -- Maverick Hello World! I am Maverick and I am soooooo happy to be part of the UYR fosters looking for my furever family! I was very scared in the shelter and didn't know if I would make it out -- I was on the list to be euthanized!!!! Foster Mom and UYR said oh no, we need to take that boy and find him a new family -- so here I am ready to find you and give you all the love and friendship you'll ever need. I've already been to the dogter, had all my shots, and had my teeth cleaned. The dogter did give Foster Mom some bad news, I have a heart murmur. Not bad enough to need medicine yet, but definitely my new family needs to know so they can let my new dogter watch it carefully and get me on medicine when it's time. I guess a heart murmur means that I'm special and have lots of room for extra love. I love to go for walks every day. I'm not the kind of guy that wants to be in your lap all the time, but I do want to be in the same room with you in my own chair next to yours. I promise to always stay by your side and only bark when there's a reason, like someone at the door or a squirrel I need to go get. Please fill out my application and come get me, I'm waiting for you. Also, while you're here, can you please donate to UYR to keep all of us off the euthanize list? It's not the kind of list we want to be on..... XXXXOOOO Maverick
