Story
Meet Stanley! Stanley is an 11 year old, Chihuahua/Yorkie mix that weighs around 15lbs. . He's current on shots, microchipped, heartworm negative, neutered and fully house trained. Stanley doesn't have many teeth, so soft food only please! He loves to walk and has perfect manners on a leash, except when other dogs are in the area. Then, he becomes reactive. Stanley loves car rides. This dapper fellow prefers to be the only dog in the home, so he doesn't have to share his person. He just wants to be with his people. He's a super snuggler, we'd even go so far as to say an expert snuggler! Stanley's adoption fee is $145. If you think this sweet boy might be a great match for your home, please send your application to myhappytail@yahoo.com. Applications are found under the How to Adopt menu on our website at www.myhappytail.org.

Story
Meet Tito! 🐾Tito may be tiny, but this little man has a huge personality! He is about 8 years old, weighs only 4 pounds, and is a friendly, happy, and surprisingly peppy senior.Tito loves being close to his people. Whether you are walking around the house, relaxing on the couch, or settling in for bedtime, he wants to be right beside you. He even has his own adorable little way of communicating when he is ready to curl up next to you!Tito does well with other dogs and enjoys sleeping beside his canine friends. Because of his extra-small size, he would be safest in a home with other small dogs. Cats, however, are not his favorite! He will bark nonstop when he sees one, so a cat-free home would probably be best—although the cats would not be in any danger.Tito also has a previous injury to his right rear leg. We initially believed that his leg might need to be amputated, but after further evaluation, it was determined that surgery would likely do more harm than good. His leg may be a little wonky, but it does not stop him from enjoying life or keeping up with his people!Tito would be happy in a home with one person or an entire family. All he really wants is someone to love, follow around, and snuggle beside. If you are looking for a tiny companion with a big heart, Tito may be your perfect match! 💙To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.

Story
Meet Sir Russ! 👑🐾Sir Russ is a 10-year-old, 8.5 lb sweetheart who is incredibly easy to love. This precious boy enjoys snuggling with his people on the sofa or in bed, although he is also perfectly content curling up in his favorite corner surrounded by a cozy blanket. If he is cuddled in your lap or tucked into your arms, it is almost guaranteed that he will fall right asleep. 😴Sir Russ has very limited vision and hearing, so he has developed his own special way of communicating. When he barks, he may be asking for food, water, a potty break, or simply some extra snuggles. His foster family works through the possibilities until they figure out exactly what their little gentleman needs!Despite his limitations, Sir Russ still enjoys the simple pleasures in life. He loves leisurely walks on a leash, rides wonderfully in the car, and enjoys lying outside on the lawn while soaking up the sunshine or relaxing in the shade. He also loves being gently wrapped in a small blanket and carried around all snuggled up.Sir Russ has a light heart murmur and currently receives eye drops and ointment for dry eye and other eye-related concerns. He can be a tough little cookie when it is time for his medication, so he needs someone patient and comfortable caring for a senior dog with medical needs. Because he can startle easily, he should always be woken gently. When he needs to be moved, wrapping him in a soft blanket helps him feel safe and secure.Overall, Sir Russ is a happy little doll, a sweet angel baby, and the kind of dog who is incredibly easy to love. He is ready for a patient family who will learn his special language, keep him cozy, and give him all the snuggles he deserves. 💙To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.
