Slider Leslie is most likely a mixture of things but we believe he closely resembles the unique breed Xoloitzcuintli. He is approximately 5 years old and currently weighs 20 lbs and he is full grown. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, we cannot guarantee breed or age. Slider is very dog friendly and watching him run around and play with all his doggy friends instantly made everyone smile. He was living his best life. We introduced Slider to multiple dogs and he was friendly with them all. Even the massive goofy male dog who was 70 lbs! Slider wasn’t intimated or overwhelmed by his size. If anything he was excited he had another friend to play with. He also met a dominant male that was slightly smaller than him and he still was not phased. Slider loves to make friends and he even attends doggy day care and he is a staff favorite. He does have energy and he loves to play but he also knows when to take breaks and will go to his humans when he is done playing and ready to go inside for nap time. Slider was very tolerant as well and could handle very rough and vocal play. He instantly became best friends with a cute little pocket pittie female that loves to play and can be quite physical with her play at times. Not only is Slider amazing with dogs, he also did really well during our cat test. He was smacked a few times by one of our resident cats and our other cat was very comfortable being around him as well. When he would get smacked, it would startle him and then he would just go on about his day and act like nothing happened. We do not know is Slider has ever lived with cats before nor can we guarantee that things won’t change once in a home. We do believe that with slow and proper introductions he does have the ability to coexist with cats. Slider would be best placed in a home with another moderately playful dog that will play with him and one that will also take breaks with him as well. We also believe that he would do great in a home with a backyard or even an apartment/condo as long as he gets adequate exercise. He does have energy but he does settle down after a good play session with doggy friends or walk in the neighborhood. He also might even enjoy a light jog with you around the park as well. Slider does need to work on his leash skills as he like to think his leash is a toy and he likes to pick it up, run with it or play tug of war. He walks a lot better on a chain linked leash to help prevent this. He’s a goofy guy and says he can walk himself. Slider will dance for treats and will also jump for affection but that can be easily discourage with consistency, training, and treats. He is treat motivated which will make any additional training that much easier. To our knowledge, Slider is crate trained and potty trained but may need a reminder about where the appropriate potty places are once in his forever home.We are willing to test Slider Leslie with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!
