Story
Meet Chance! A seven-year-old Great Pyrenees/Siberian Husky mix currently in Porterville, CA, whose striking eyes and calm, laidback presence make every day feel a little more peaceful. This handsome large boy weighs about 95 pounds and carries his dark brown and tan coat like a gentle guardian of the backyard and the couch alike. Chance thrives in a family environment, does well with children, and truly loves being near his people. Whether he is resting at your feet, supervising dinner preparations from his designated kitchen doorway spot, or softly snoring in his crate, his steady companionship is a gift. He is house-trained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and even has transferable pet insurance to support his continued care. He settles very well when left alone and politely lets you know when it is time for a potty break. As a herding breed mix, Chance is wonderfully attuned to his surroundings. He may gently nudge with his nose to “help” guide you, and he benefits from clear boundaries and structured routines, especially around food. He is ruled by his nose and enjoys relaxed daily walks, including long 'sniffaris' where he can investigate every tree and lamppost. He does beautifully both on and off leash with familiar dogs and is compatible with other dogs and cats. In fact, he currently coexists peacefully with neighborhood cats and has even shared playful moments with them. Chance is an early riser around 5:00 to 5:30 a.m., appreciates consistent mealtimes, enjoys car rides, loves water, and requires regular grooming, including care for his extra dewclaws. He is not a frequent barker, though he will offer a big alert if someone approaches. He knows an impressive list of commands such as sit, stay, down, come, roll over, shake, go lay down, walk fast, and even “time for bed.” Chance has a small patch of hair loss on his tail. A veterinarian evaluated it and an allergy shot was tried without effect, but he shows no other concerning symptoms and appears comfortable and healthy. He receives regular dental chews and ongoing routine care. If you can offer companionship, structure and a cozy indoor sleeping space, could Chance be the loyal friend you have been hoping for? Story
Meet Titus! A spirited almost two-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix currently in Santee, CA, whose essence is a beautiful blend of loyalty, playfulness, and gentle strength, wrapped in a beige and tan coat with striking black ears and a noble black muzzle. Titus is the kind of companion who brings warmth and comfort just by being near. Affectionate and deeply connected to those around him, he’s played an important role in helping a family member through tough times and now he’s ready to find a new loving home where he can thrive both physically and emotionally. At around 84 pounds, Titus is a large pup with an even bigger heart! He's playful, enjoys affection, and thrives on companionship, whether it’s human or canine. This outdoorsy guy is happiest when he’s out exploring. Whether it's a long hike, a walk through the neighborhood, or romping at the dog park, Titus embraces it all with enthusiasm! He’s a big fan of squeaky toys and balls, and he especially enjoys the social scene at doggie daycare. He’s shown no signs of guarding or food aggression and gets along well with other dogs, often delighting in the opportunity to play. Titus would not do well in a home with cats or other small animals, such as birds or chickens. Though he's not lived with children, he’s always friendly when meeting new people and loves gentle pets from curious little hands. Titus is leash trained, house-trained, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He knows basic commands like sit, down, stay, come, mine, and release. When left alone for short periods, he mostly snoozes peacefully. He’s sensitive to raised voices and the occasional scary animal on TV, so a calm, caring environment will help him feel secure. Titus would do best with guardians experienced with large breeds, especially those familiar with livestock guardian types. A fenced yard is a must for his zoomies and sunbathing sessions, and a canine playmate would be the cherry on top of his perfect day! Are you the kind-hearted, active family Titus needs to continue his journey of love, play, and adventure? If so, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about bringing this affectionate explorer into your life! Content Notice: This pet is represented by Joyful Pets.
