Big, silly, smart, the PERFECT family companion... yet everyone keeps overlooking Archie-Scottie?!
He's housetrained, crate trained, great with people, gentle enough for kids, and SUPER cute. What more could you possibly want?!
At around 70 pounds, Archie-Scottie is believed to be a Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix, and he is almost everything you could want in a big family dog.
You may be wondering about that very unique, hyphenated name… Archie-Scottie used to be simply "Scottie" until he was adopted a little over a year ago. His family renamed him Archie, but unfortunately, he was eventually returned to us. Our records - and our dog team - still know this lovable goof as Scottie, but the funny thing is… Scottie knows himself as BOTH Archie and Scottie!
So if you adopt him, you can pick whichever name you like best. Archie. Scottie. Archie-Scottie. Or give him an entirely new name! Honestly, we don't care what you call him. We just want him to be loved, committed to, and HOME FOREVER this time. ❤️
As for other animals, we don't currently know how Archie-Scottie feels about cats, but we're happy to test that for an approved adopter. We do know that Archie-Scottie would not be a good match for another large male dog. He may be able to live with a female dog or a smaller male dog, depending on the individual dog. A controlled meet-and-greet with resident dogs will be required before he goes home to make sure everyone is comfortable and compatible.
