Story
Joker is 2 years old. His personality favors the Akbash and he has strong watch dog behavior. He is currently an inside dog, but would do good outside. He is very friendly, loves to play, loves being outside and does well around our young children (2 and 4 year old). He is friendly towards other dogs, has been around chickens in a run, but does not like cats (he will bark at them and if they come close paw at them). No history of bites or reactiveness. He will alert us when someone or sometimes animals come up to the house, but when taking him on walks he can walk past people and animals unbothered. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on rabies and distemper. Commands he knows are sit, come, down, off and he is crate trained. He needs work with walking on a leash, he is about 80lbs and is a pretty strong leash puller. He is a big chewer and can be destructive if not supervised. E-fence collars do not work for him, he will run right through them no matter how high it is set.

Story
We adopted Odin in March 2022, when he was estimated to be about one year old. Odin is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves being outside, playing with balls, and getting belly rubs. He enjoys companionship and is very loving with people he trusts. When Odin joined our family, we already had a small dog and two cats, and he has always gotten along well with them. He does, however, have some behavioral challenges. Odin can be timid and anxious, especially around unfamiliar people and animals. He struggles with new people entering his space too quickly and may react defensively when overwhelmed, though he is not aggressive by nature. Odin has some resource-guarding tendencies too, mainly with food, which we manage by feeding him in his crate. He can also be possessive of attention around other animals. With the recent addition of a toddler to our home, there have been a few close-call situations, and we feel it is in Odin’s best interest to be rehomed.
