My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. I'm here to adopt me a family and since you're reading this you must being missing something special in your life too, could it possibly be...ME?!!

The name Oso from the Spanish origin meaning 'bear' fits me just right, not too hard but not too soft. Oops wrong story. I more resemble a big ole polar bear. Big, white and fluffy, so maybe a little soft. :) I miss having a family so I'm hoping my new family will be right around the corner. You see, I was abandoned at a apartment complex. Luckily I was found and brought into this rescue where I'll have my best chance of having that loving fur-ever (the furever part is very important to me) family where I'll be safe and loved (also very important to me). I'm such a good boy that is very affectionate and sweet. I'm good with all people, tall or small, good with the other foster pups here and I'm already house trained. Wow, if you ask me and not to toot my own horn or anything but a special person(s) gonna be getting a real great catch!! I am a pretty big boy coming in around 90lbs but the good news is...at around a year old I am at my adult size! I may be a big boy but that just means there is more of me to love on you! I'm a gentle giant that loves to be loved on and there is nothing better then getting belly rubs and ear scratches! At only around a year old I am still playful and will need some daily walks or exercise but with that in should do fine in town with a yard, out in the country or anywhere in between. With my hairytage my coat will need brushing a few times a week and maybe even a professional grooming once in a while to keep me looking my handsomest self! I will also leave hair on the floor and on the couch (or my doggie bed) and you'll use your vacuum a lot! But my loving nature and soulful expressive eyes will make it all so worth it!!! If you've never been loved by a Pyr before, you don't know what you're missing! If you're searching for a family member that is gentle with a sweet nature, look no further I could be that boy!! I'm around a year and a half old, that perfectly pawsome age to tag along with you on all your daily going on's, from the mundane to the exciting action adventures... I'm just happy to be with you! At 70lbs I'm a bigger boy but all that means is that there is more of me to put a whole lot of lovins on you. With my Pyr/Lab hairtage I'm got the shorter coat more like the Lab which is so much easier in the grooming department. It won't take much for me to be ready for all our adventures! I get along pawsomely with people both tall and small and with all the other foster pups. Although cats are unknown as we are not sure if I've ever met one yet. Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Zita is the last remaining pup available for adoption from our Marley's Miracles litter of ten. Mama Marley was a Great Pyrenees who passed away from sepsis when the pups were just a couple of days old. The father was an Anatolian Shepherd mix. 1 year old Zita is an energetic girl. She gets the zoomies all the time and we love to watch her long legs run! Besides playing with the dogs in her foster home, one of Zita's favorite activities is chewing on a multitude of toys. She loves to tear apart stuffed animals, but doesn't eat the stuffing. Shy and reserved when meeting people, Zita has lots of personality in her foster home. A talker, Zita will let her foster mom know how she feels. Zita is treat motivated, potty trained, and walks well on a leash. Zita knows sit and goes in her kennel when you say round up. Zita will come to her adopter spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements: A secure & visible fence A home check Another dog in the home A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Illinois, Iowa, and Arkansas.

Kody was surrendered to rescue in 2020 because he and the other male dog in the home were not getting along. Kody is one of our six sanctuary dogs. He has been with us for such a long time now that we feel he would not do well transitioning to a new home. So we will continue to love and care for Kody in rescue. We appreciate donations towards his food/treats, monthly preventatives, and routine vet care. Hi my name is Kody. I am a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix. I am a lovable boy who gives the Pyr paw. Very affectionate to my foster dad, I give him daily hugs when I'm sitting on top of my dog house. It's my favorite place to be to observe my surroundings. Walks are another favorite activity and I must carry my stuffed lamb with me. I also enjoy belly rubs, car rides, and boat rides. I'm food motivated and know sit, lay down, shake and hug but in typical Pyrenees fashion I only listen when I want to! I am neutered, up to date on vaccinations, up to date on flea/tick preventives, Our Adoption Requirements: A secure and visible fence. In order for your application to be approved you must pass a home check and a vet check which includes having at least a two year vet history. Our adoptable dogs can be adopted in Missouri and surrounding states: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to transport me to those states.
