Story
***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved adopter on our 6/20/26 adopted pet transport to Monroe, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement part of our distance adoption program.*** Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Annie, a beautiful one-year-old Great Pyrenees cross who found herself at the shelter through absolutely no fault of her own. She has that classic, wonderful Pyrenees personalityaloof yet deeply loving, gentle, kind, and happiest when she is right by your side. While she looks the part, Annie missed the memo on being a working livestock guardian. Aside from some instinctive barking to let you know what's going on, she doesn't possess typical guarding traits. In fact, she grew up as an indoor dog with a very small yard. Now that she is at the shelter, she has discovered the joy of having room to move and is absolutely loving the big yard where she can stretch her legs. We believe Annie would do wonderfully with an active family who loves to hit the hiking trails and then come home for a serious snuggle session. Her perfect match will just need to keep a few specific preferences in mind. Annie has a quirky, adorable habit of climbing right into the water trough at the shelter, so a home near water or with a kiddie pool of her own would make her day. Because Annie loves a good game of chase, a cat free home would be best for her. She is also dog-selective, so if you have another dog in the home, they will need to do a meet-and-greet at the shelter to ensure they mesh well. Additionally, she does guard her food from other furry friends, so she will simply need to be fed separately in her own space. If you are looking for a loyal, loving best friend, Annie is definitely the girl for you! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Annie is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
