They haven't had the easiest go of it and are hoping to find an experienced adopter where they can continue to gain confidence, learn about the world around them and truly blossom. When they are feeling comfortable with you, they are silly, playful, and their puppy personalities come out. Benji and Elsa have a good history with other dogs, but they haven't met cats before. Any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. Benji and Elsa are looking for a quiet, predictable home with just adults. They are not a fit for an apartment or condo and would love a securely fenced backyard. If you're ready to welcome home this dynamic duo, make an adoption appointment to learn about them today! *Benji and Elsa have a slightly longer adoption process than our typical dogs, and will need multiple meet and greets at our shelter before going home.

Our app can be found at haydudeequine.org Hey there — I’m Astro 🚀💙 I’m a 7-week-old Great Pyrenees/Aussie/Lab mix with fluffy cream-colored fur, dreamy blue eyes, and a face that apparently makes humans immediately start talking in baby voices. I don’t really understand it yet, but I’m rolling with it. My siblings and I were rescued from a rural area outside of Bastrop, Texas after being found as strays with our mama. She was extremely skinny when we came into rescue, but she still took such good care of us. Now we’re safe, loved, and discovering that life is pretty great when you have soft blankets, full bellies, and people who adore you. I’m a sweet and curious little guy with a gentle personality and just enough puppy confidence to make exploring fun. I love waddling around investigating new things, soaking up attention, and giving my best serious “tiny polar bear” expression when people take my picture. With my mix, I’ll probably grow into a beautiful medium-to-large dog around 60–70 lbs full grown — loyal, smart, affectionate, and ready for adventures with my future family. What I’m really looking for is a home where I can grow up feeling safe, loved, and included in all the little moments of life. Someone to teach me things, cuddle me after long puppy days, and remind me that I’ll never have to survive on my own again. Until then, I’ll just keep being the fluffy blue-eyed heartbreaker of the litter. 🩵🐾

Bodhi's story before coming to us is a mystery, but one thing is certain—life wasn't kind to him. This sweet boy was thrown over the fence at our rescue, frightened and unsure of the world around him. Shortly after arriving, he became sick, but thanks to lots of love, care, and good food, Bodhi is now healthy and finally ready to find the forever family he deserves. Bodhi gets along well with other dogs and loves to play. He can be quite vocal during playtime, happily barking as he races around the yard. He's also a bit of a klutzy goofball whose zoomies are guaranteed to make you smile! When Bodhi first arrived, he struggled with resource guarding around food. With patience, consistency, and trust-building, he has made incredible progress and will now happily eat from our hands. He will occasionally try to resource guard a favorite toy, but he's learning that he doesn't have to. We are able to easily redirect him, and with continued consistency, positive reinforcement, and training, we believe he'll continue making great progress. While he can be a little shy when entering a new room or unfamiliar situation, once he feels comfortable, his playful and affectionate personality shines through. Bodhi is crate trained and is looking for a home with someone who has experience with his breed or a similar working breed. He'll thrive with an adopter who understands the importance of continued training, structure, and positive reinforcement to help him continue building his confidence. If you're looking for a resilient, goofy, and loyal companion who's overcome so much and is ready to start his best chapter yet, Bodhi is waiting to meet you.
