Story
History and A Note from the Foster: Hey there, future family! My name’s Waddles, but my foster family calls me “Dora” because, well… I’m an explorer! Every yard, trail, and living room corner deserves a proper sniff inspection if you ask me. I’m an 8-month-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, and if you’re looking for brains and beauty, look no further. I’m crate-trained, potty-trained, and I walk like an absolute pro on a leash (seriously, my foster mom says I’m the best walker she’s ever had!). I currently live in western WI with a really cool 9-year-old human, my foster mom and dad, and a cat named Cheeto. I think Cheeto’s awesome — I tried to play with him, but he didn’t seem into it. I may have whimpered about it, but I got over it and went back to stealing his toys instead. I’m loyal, independent, and a bit of a goofball. My favorite toy is a stuffed moose that I proudly parade around like a trophy (no pictures, though — I’m camera shy!). I love cuddling once I get to know you, and belly rubs? Oh yes, please! I do best with school-aged kids or older, only because I’m a big girl still learning about sharing my snacks and toys. I had a tiny bit of resource guarding at first, but with a little training (and love), I got the hang of it fast. I’d love a home with: Humans who like adventure (walks! exploring! sniffing everything!) A dog sibling, but only if they're friendly and not too bossy Maybe even a cat friend — as long as they don’t mind a curious pup A cozy bed for when I’m ready to curl up and snooze after a big day Honestly, I’m just looking for a family who’ll love me as much as I’ll love them. I’m loyal, silly, smart, and sweet — basically the full package. So what do you say?

Story
History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! A Note from the Foster: Chapo may be 80lbs, but he’s actually a big baby lap dog. He loves every friend he meets and in fact gets upset if someone doesn’t come to pet him. He is quite playful and loves to play with his toys and other dogs. His favorite toys are the noisiest ones! Hanging his head out the car window is one of his favorite pastimes, aside from cuddling and attention of course. Structure and rules are new to him and he has a lot to learn, but he does so willingly with the help of deli turkey. Chapo requires (though he deserves it) lots of love and attention. His family should be one willing to spend lots of time with him! Chapo has a strong prey drive, so no small pets or cats in the home. He is committed to keeping your yard free of any squirrels, rabbits or neighborhood cats! He will need someone confident and firm as he is a typical stubborn Pyrenees. He doesn’t live with children, but has seen them and has acted positively towards them. Due to his young spirit, playful energy and large size, he would do best in a home with a larger dog. He does have a tendency to howl when left alone, so no shared walls will be ideal.
