Story
This is Sophia! She’s a 2 year old Akbash. She is quite possibly the happiest goofiest dog I have ever met. And largest. She knows basic commands but could use more training. She loves kids, cats, and other dogs and is very gentle. Her favorite things are walks, car rides, and zoomies outside with the kids. We inherited Sophia after a friend’s dad passed away. When I agreed to take her I had a very flexible work schedule, but just a few weeks after she arrived my employer mandated an 8 hours in office schedule. We are gone now 12 hours/day during the week and have tried to make it work, but Sophia is a very sweet and social dog and it is cruel leaving her home so long alone. The perfect home would be where someone is home a lot, she loves kids especially ones that can run with her, another dog friend would be good, and just humans willing to love her ❤️ I do not have any paperwork for her or records she was just handed over without much information. All I know is she is spayed.

These pups are in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota too!

Story
Introducing Kit: part Great Pyrenees, part Doberman, and 100% professional weirdo. She’s about two years old, has legs for days, and a nose that works overtime like a tiny detective on an endless case. Kit has gone from “stranger danger” mode to “sniff your hair while you’re watching Netflix” mode, and that’s what we call progress.   Her daily routine is very official: three laps around her kennel like an Olympic track star before dinner, followed by stealing the couch or your bed because, honestly, she’s royalty and crates are for peasants. She’s learning that humans = belly rub dispensers, and she’s totally here for it.   Kit is a huge fan of dogs, though she sometimes comes in a little too hot on first introductions (think: bossy camp counselor vibes). Once she knows who’s in charge, she’s good to go, and she’s the best babysitter for puppies. What she is not into? Cats, chickens, birds, squirrels, or basically anything small and fluffy that isn’t her designated sibling. For those, her prey drive kicks in and—let’s just say—it’s a hard no.   She’s obsessed with running, but luckily, she’s not a fence-jumper. A nice sturdy yard is her dream stage for zoomies. When she’s not sprinting, she’s all about long walks, soft toys, and claiming furniture like it’s her birthright. She’ll even listen to “leave it” when she’s yelling at the neighbors, which is basically the dog version of good manners.   Kit is still a little shy at first, but once she warms up, you’ll find a goofy, loyal, slightly dramatic best friend who makes the small victories (like coming when called) feel like winning the lottery. She’s been waiting long enough—this couch hog is ready to claim your couch and, more importantly, your heart.       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 15, 2025, 9:39 am

Story
Are you looking for a lively personal trainer, a child’s ride-upon horse, fetch master, and a goofball?  Look no further: Travis is your man. Travis is an Anatolian Shepherd/Foxhound mix born approx 12/7/23. He hails from Arkansas and is dripping with Southern charm and charisma. He is the father to the eight adorable puppies recently welcomed by Taylor.      Travis is playful; he plays like it’s his job! What does he play, you might wonder?  Whatever the resident 7, 4, and 2-year-old children are doing.  This could be Cabbage Patch, swinging in the hammock, wrestling, zipping through forts/blanket houses, or classic rock dance parties.      Leash walking?  More like running!  It is improving but Travis does pull.  He’s just so excited to go fast, seeing and smelling everything. Potty trained?  Completely. Kennel-tolerant?  Yes, although he prefers if there is a person or two in his vicinity. Vocalization?  Rarely does a bark or whimper come from Travis.  He has never growled or shown teeth, even when our 2-year-old picked up a handful of kibble from his bowl during meal time.  We are “training” the kids that even a lovebug like Travis needs to be left alone during dinner!    Socialization?  Loves all people and other dogs.  Can occasionally whelp pathetically when kenneled, and we leave the house.  Our 4-year-old says “when he makes that noise he’s showing you he misses his eight puppies!”  Lol. Intelligence?  Travis is unbelievably smart and is quite possibly a mind-reader. Additional training on staying down and leash manners are the only areas this near-perfect dog needs to work on.      Travis would easily fully integrate into any family with young kids.  The adventures he has with little ones are both hilarious and heart-warming.  Travis doesn’t want to simply meet you; he wants us to arrange a play date with you. Cheers!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Lucas is a 1.5-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who made the long journey from Arkansas to Minnesota in hopes of finding the forever family he deserves. He was originally brought to a vet clinic in Arkansas as a stray, and thanks to a partner rescue that works closely with No Dog Left Behind, he was given a second chance. Now he’s living in a loving foster home with kids and other dogs, settling into home life beautifully. At about 50 pounds, Lucas is the perfect mid-sized companion, and his personality is even more impressive than his looks. He absolutely adores people—especially kids—and loves being part of the family’s everyday activities. Despite being young, he has a gentle, calming presence and is a joy to have around. His foster family describes him as sweet, affectionate, and wonderfully easygoing. Lucas gets along great with other dogs and enjoys having canine buddies to play with or relax beside. He’s shown interest in cats but hasn’t had a formal introduction yet, so with slow and proper acclimation he may do well with them. He is crate trained, knows how to sit, and is eager to learn anything else you’re willing to teach him. For a Pyrenees mix, he’s also quite quiet—his barking is minimal, making him an even better fit for many households.  He's doing great with potty training, leash walking and riding in the car as well. Lucas would thrive in a family that’s looking for a loyal, loving dog who’s great with children and enjoys the company of other dogs. Whether you’re active, laid-back, or somewhere in between, he’s happy just being part of your world. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, kid-loving pup who’s ready to give you his whole heart, Lucas might be the perfect match. Apply to meet him through No Dog Left Behind and help him complete his journey home.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
