Storm is a 3 year old male Akita. He was my ex-husband's dog and my ex has left the state without him. He has been loved and cared for and is a sweet boy. He is typical Akita in his dealings with other animals - he is the boss and has a very high prey drive. He would be best in a home with no other animals. He is very protective of his family. He has been kept indoors but does like to play outside. He can be a bit of a goofball at times. He loves treats and toys and knows sit, come, down (lay) and stay (sort of - lol). He is housebroken and does not have accidents when left at home. He usually goes in his crate as he loves his crate and it is his own place. He was obtained from a breeder in North Carolina (I have his paper to be filed with the AKC - we never filed it). I am looking for a good forever home for him. I work alot of hours (my ex was home with him alot) and cannot give him the life a time he deserves.

Meet Rolly: A Gentle Giant Seeking a Loving Home Rolly celebrated his 2nd birthday this past June, and it breaks my heart to say that we need to find him a new forever home due to the arrival of our newborn. Don't let his size fool you; Rolly is the epitome of a gentle giant. His affectionate nature and friendly demeanor make him a joy to be around. Rolly has mostly been an indoor dog, cherishing the cozy comforts of home. At night, he finds solace sleeping at the foot of our bed, and when we're away, he patiently waits by the door for our return. He's not just a pretty face; Rolly is also quite the scholar! He knows commands like "sit" and can shake hands with either paw on cue. While Rolly's size might be a bit imposing to some, he's mostly a quiet soul. He has a unique way of alerting us to strangers approaching our home, serving as our very own "doorbell". It's not that he's overly protective; he just likes to keep us informed. Rolly is not meant for a first time dog owner.

Hey, there! I'm the uber-fuzzy, large-pawed, curly-tailed canine who's playful and smart. My breed, Akita, originated in Japan yet my name, Mishka, means "little bear" in Russian. I'm four years old, luv stuffed toys and crave pats on my head and belly. Even though I behave on a leash and am house trained, I'm considered high maintenance since I need tons of exercise and grooming. The up side: more time for us to interact and bond. My bugaboos include cats, strangers and nail trims. I also have Houdini talents as an escape artist. I would blend best in a family with children older than 13. Sadly, my person had health issues and could no longer care for me. I'm optimistic- treat jar half full, not half empty- I'll find my furever family soon so we can spend quality time together.
