Hello! This is Appa he is a sweet 4.5 year old American Akita. His birthday is May 11, 2021. I originally got him from a breeder in Dallas,TX when he was 8 weeks old. He is such a loving dog and is the friendliest Akita ever when it comes to meeting new people. I no longer have a cat, but he grew up around a one and never had any issues with him. He is a pretty independent dog which is normal for the breed, but he is a super sweet boy that loves getting pets. He gets along well with most female dogs. I would highly advise against having him live with another male dog due to the natural same sex aggression that is seen in this breed. He is well behaved and knows all of his obedience commands, although in typical Akita fashion he may pick and choose how quickly he listens. He's honestly an amazing dog, but due to life changes and circumstances it would be best for him to be rehomed. He is up to date on all of his shots, and currently takes simparico trio.

Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!!
