Story
Maya is a an amazing dog. She is so loyal, sweet and the perfect amount of energy. She loves to run and play, but is also totally happy to lay and cuddle and hang all day. She is a husky mix and has a strong personality, she is the most human dog ever! We got Maya from Evanston animal shelter 3 years ago, and have loved every minute of owning her. We just got pregnant with our second child, and our apartment and life is just a bit too small to keep Maya, and also have 2 kids. We would love to find her a home with someone who can give her all the attention and cuddles she deserves! Maya is good with other dogs, loves playing in doggie daycare and is also great with our 2 year old daughter. She can be a little bit anxious on walks if there are loud noises, but she is trained and is generally speaking a great walker.

Meet Velvet! This Husky mix is a low-energy puppy who was found in an abandoned home in Texas along with her four siblings and her parents. Now this shy girl is ready for her forever family! Velvet is a soft, snuggly, and sweet little lady. She will melt your heart with her striking eyes and soft fur. In between playtime with her chew toys and kongs, she loves to cuddle up with her human friends and has been excellent at all adoption events. She is friendly to everyone she meets, though she can be shy at first. She would thrive in a patient home, especially one with another dog who can help her build confidence and show her the ropes. If you’re looking for a puppy on the mellow side who loves to make friends, look no further than Velvet!

Story
I showed up at an elderly couple's house and hung out on their back porch. Her husband had a stroke and was in a wheelchair.. She needed to get her husband into their car the next day to get to the doctor and I was preventing that from happening. SPOT posted for help and a SPOT volunteer came to the rescue, and brought Todd to the SPOT office. Email help@wcspot.org for adoption information.

Story
Meet Rosie 🌹 Rosie is a gentle soul who takes her time getting to know new people—but once she feels safe, her sweet and loyal nature really begins to shine. She’s most comfortable when given space to settle in at her own pace, and she feels more at ease with people she’s had the chance to build trust with. Rosie may need a few visits to truly warm up, but for the right person or family, she’s well worth the wait. She’s not particularly interested in toys or treats—but if you’ve got hotdogs, you might just be her new best friend! Rosie prefers calm, quiet environments and would do best in an adult-only home where she can feel safe and understood. She walks nicely on leash, though she’s happiest spending time in a secure yard where she can explore and relax on her own terms. Rosie is looking for a patient and loving home that will give her the time she needs to feel comfortable—and in return, she’ll give her heart. She would thrive in an adult only home. If you are interested in meeting Rosie, make sure to fill out an application at animalcareleague.org!
