Story
Meet Elsa (ACCT-A-244846)! She's big...she's beautiful.... she's the whole package! This sweet girl is looking for her forever home, and we think she'd make a wonderful companion. Elsa enjoys gentle walks and leaning in for pets and scratches – she'll even curl around you to get more! She's interested in toys and has playful bursts of energy. She's also been known to sit nicely for treats and enjoy them all on her own. Shelter staff have noted she was a bit nervous in new environments when she arrived, so patience and coaxing will be key to helping her settle in. Good news – Elsa is reported to be housebroken! Could Elsa be the one for you? 🎥 Videos: Elsa gets a bath 🧼 https://youtube.com/shorts/l5Aw7DF2_mo?feature=share Elsa loves treats : https://youtube.com/shorts/0CpD8qFZccc?si=qC3gYfK0NOirIqHk Meet playful Elsa : https://youtube.com/shorts/f8mUR7GPx7w?si=z8P8-4mNo9dcXQos Playgroup 3/10:https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfMCm6kgAGI4n0H63Pu2OeMHPVlmp1wmF 🐕 Behavior Notes: 03/15/2026: Kennel Presentation: at back of kennel- came forward when I approached. Stayed still to be leashed. Hopped right out. Leash Skills: medium pressure- for a large dog, very manageable. Sociability: leans into you for pets and scratches. Curls around to get more. Chased toys and playfully bowed with them. Spurts of energy. Sat for treats and also got excited/ jumped up for them. Would take treats and lay down and enjoy by themselves. Play: interested in toys, playfully bowed bows, energetic Dog Interaction: met dogs through the fence, medium neutral wagging tailReturn to Kennel: stepped in for treat. Color Level: exp goldRecommendations and considerations: 03/11/2026: Walked pretty close to me so I pet her. She allowed pets all down her back and leaned into my legs. 03/10/2026: Playgroup 3/10: Steerable with water (5/5) but not with shake can (0/5). Handler reported that she was nervous walking through the kennels and required patience & coaxing. But once outside, appeared neutral / relaxed. Slow, hesitant entry into play yard. Tentative, aloof greetings with Otis. These continued for several minutes: aloof sniffing in circles with slow tail wags and lip licks. Eventually tried soliciting some push/pull play from Otis with play bows and shuffles. Was corrected by Buddy Lee with some grumbly air snaps for space when she went to investigate him in the corner of the yard. Elsa corrected Coco Loco with some grumbles, while she was persistently play bowing and soliciting play. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
