Story
Daphne will soon be "paw-roled" from our Paws in the Pen program in partnership with the New Mexico Corrections Department! Each dog is paired with two inmate trainers and enrolled in a 24/7 8-week training program designed to develop wonderful family dogs with excellent training. Each of these dogs will go home potty and crate trained with a whole list of cues and behaviors; to ensure a successful adoption, we are providing four training sessions with adopters, so you can learn what your dog knows, and an invitation to weekly discounted drop-in classes. These dogs also go home with a biothane leash and collar, 6 months of heartworm prevention, are fully up-to-date on all vaccines and medication, and are spayed and neutered.Daphne's forelorn eyes will melt your heart. This mama just weaned her last litter, and she's ready to find a home that will turn those sad eyes to glad. Incredibly sweet, with an abiding love for treats, she's a beautiful girl who is friendly with everyone, and likes to play with other dogs. Daphne is very curious and energetic, and is learning to focus in her training. Daphne is perfect for an active family who likes to spend time outdoors and snuggle on the couch.

Story
George loves people dearly and especially kids. When he meets someone, he is exuberant, running and licking frantically, until he settles into some snuggles. He will show you how excited he is by wagging his little nub of a tail uncontrollably. George was in a playgroup with other dogs at the shelter, so he is great with dogs but needs some space every now and then too. We think he would be great in a house with kids and 1-2 other dogs, and he is fully potty trained. George comes from a long background of trauma, so we are excited for him to meet you and settle in to some love. ##1549722##
