Story
George loves people dearly and especially kids. When he meets someone, he is exuberant, running and licking frantically, until he settles into some snuggles. He will show you how excited he is by wagging his little nub of a tail uncontrollably. George was in a playgroup with other dogs at the shelter, so he is great with dogs but needs some space every now and then too. We think he would be great in a house with kids and 1-2 other dogs, and he is fully potty trained. George comes from a long background of trauma, so we are excited for him to meet you and settle in to some love. ##1549722##

*Doggie Playgroup Participant*OH HENRY! This friendly guy loves to run and play with other dogs and toys. He has a ball fetching plushies that you throw for him. He enjoys a good rump scratchin` but isn`t clingy for affection.Henry is a smart doggo who knows `sit` and `shake paw` and he can also catch treats in mid air! He`s also pretty easy to walk on leash for his size and would love to go for long walks or hikes with you.Henry would like to give you a gift for the new year, the gift of companionship and loyalty in exchange for a loving home from you!

Story
Playful and sweet, Xena takes a little while to get to know, but is a love bug when you are lucky enough to do so. She is good with people, but is extremely dog selective, possibly preferring younger males. She is kid-friendly, but needs an adult to walk her on the leash to handle her properly around unknown other dogs. She has been looking for a loving home for a very long time.

Story
Fiji is a 2 year old husky mix, incredibly dog, cat, everything friendly. House trained, crate trained and over all a great dog. Still working on stranger danger but he is showing improvement. Honestly, he is a great watch dog and would be great for a single gal that wanted to feel safe exploring ##1562428##

Story
Meet Roxy – an amazingly smart and sweet girl. Roxy arrived at her current foster family’s home in late January, and they immediately fell in love with her. She is timid around new things, including people, but once she determines that you are trustworthy, she is loving and playful. Roxy loves to be outside. She is an interesting combination of couch potato and energizer bunny. While she is 8 years old, you would never know it by her behavior. She loves to go on walks and hikes. Since her current foster family does not have a yard that she can play in, they take her walking three times a day – in the morning she easily goes 3-4 miles; at lunch she goes 1-2 miles; and late afternoon she does another 1.5-2 mile walk. She has hiked 6 miles with her foster mom and dad, and was ready to keep going. As soon as you ask her if she is ready to go, she is up and bouncing around. But when you get home and are busy with other things, she is content to lay on her bed and sleep. She does love her toys and will occasionally grab one of her squeaky toys for you to throw so she can chase it. She brings it back and lets you throw again until she needs a rest, and then she brings it back and plays tug of war with you until she is ready to run again. She seems to know that she is supposed to potty outside as she has never had an accident in the house, and she has not chewed on anything that she shouldn’t. She sleeps in the bedroom, but stays on her bed, the floor, or a small couch which is in her foster parent’s room. She goes to bed with her foster mom and dad and is quiet all night. Her foster family does not have other pets or children, but she walks several days a week with the neighbor dog, and they do great together. She has been friendly with all the dogs she has met while walking. She walks great on leash, though she does get excited and pulls when she gets the scent of deer. She loves to ride in the car. Her current foster parents have never heard her bark, as she is a quiet little thing; though she may whine a little when it is time to go out for her walk. While she is crate trained, her current foster family has not crated her as she has been fine when left in the house alone. She also appears to be indifferent to cats from her limited exposure to them. Roxy will be a great addition to a family that either has a yard she can play in or is somewhat active so she can get out on walks. We have adoption clinic on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11a-2pm at 6300 San Mateo (along the grass next to Academy Rd) in the southern end of the Spouts Market parking lot volunteer staffing/weather permitting. We can also make arrangements for a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with approved applications.
