Sweet girl dumped by her owners after 9 years. Left at a pound in LA Kiss went on the euth list and we scooped her up. She loves walks, is cute as all get out, and would make a low maintenance companion dog! She is heavy set at about 35 pounds but is quiet and lazy and very cute if you like an open face and low maintenance companion. She is housetrained, gets along with cats and dogs but would love to be an only dog and be fussed over. Debarked she is quiet tho can make a noise when needed (sad attempt at a bark). Hi my name is Keiko. I will be 9 yrs old in July, 2026. I am 100% pure breed American Standard Akita. As us Akitas I am very independent. I have lived with my human Dad and doggie dad since I was born. I've never been around any small humans, (kids). I need a new home with a yard and fence since my Dad is moving out of the country and I can't go. I like people generally, but like all Akitas, I really don't care for other animals. I am completely house trained and very clean. I'd like a new home with parents that have owned other large breed dogs, any past Akita ownership is a big plus, because you know....we are special dogs. I will always be loyal and respect you, as long as you treat me the same. If you love me I will definitely love you, but we don't need a lot of hands on affection. I will always be their for you, sleeping next to your bed, on the floor, if you need me. I would say my biggest fault is I am possessive of my bones and stuff, but I will also respect your stuff.

Cash, isn’t he gorgeous?! And he is oh so sweet, his foster says. She is constantly covered in puppy kisses and greeted with his beautiful smile. Cash is an 11 month old Akita who found himself in rescue when his senior owners were no longer able to care for him. He's doing wonderful in foster care, playing with other dogs, rolling in leaves and going on adventures. He doesn't like to share a food dish with his dog friends (don't blame him tbh) so he eats alone, but that's very easy to accommodate. Cash is a smart, outgoing, loyal athletic young dog, he will need continued training as he continues into adulthood. He is great with other dogs medium sized and larger, no small dogs for Cash as he does have a prey drive indicative of his breed. Cash has been great with older children (8 and up). He is friendly with new people and shown a fondness for leaning in and back scratches. Cash is housebroken and leash trained. He will make a great addition to your home. Cash is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. Hi my name is Loki. I am hoping to find my new forever home! I suffered a tremendous loss when my human mom passed away after a brief battle with cancer. I am being fostered so I didn't end up in a shelter. About me: I am a chocolate lab mix (probably a little shepherd/husky). I do have a double coat. I can be a lap dog at times, I walk well using a gentle leader, I'm great in the car, crate trained, have no separation anxiety, I enjoy playing in water on warm days and daily long walks where I love to randomly plop and roll in the grass. I'm told I'm a little goofy and also very handsome. I am also very well trained but my foster mom will offer my new forever person training. I would prefer to be an only pet in the house. Absolutely NO cats. An experienced big dog owner would be ideal for me but anyone interested in me please reach out!!! I do need an active person so we can enjoy eachothers company on daily walks. Can't wait to find my new forever person/people!
