What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some canine body language together!I would do best in a home with only adult humans.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. Story
Bernard is a male Akita who is good with kids, likely okay with cats, and selective of the company with other dogs.Bernard is a gentle, well-mannered and easy-going boy. He enjoys the company of people and working a crowd for their love and attention. This super relaxed guy just wants to hang and keep you company. He's very good about taking baths, going to the vet, and going on car rides. He does like to be familiar with his environment to feel comfortable, due to being blind in both eyes. Bernard would do well in a home with kids, but he does prefer a low-energy home. He would do well in a home with other dogs and cats, but he needs to really get to know them before he's comfortable being in the same space. To apply for this pet on Adopets, click the Adopt Me button below their profile picture. Story
Meet Mr. Smith!Mr. Smith arrived at our care center as a stray, so his past is a mystery. Despite this, he's proven to be a charming fellow who enjoys human company. With a soft, sleek coat and gentle eyes, Mr. Smith is both handsome and affectionate. He's known for leaning into petting and giving his full attention to those nearby. My Ideal HomeMr. Smith would thrive in an adult-only home with an experienced owner who is familiar with large dogs. A calm, quiet environment where he can relax and feel secure would be best. His new family should be prepared to invest time in his training and daily exercise.Good with Kids? No. Due to his reactivity and size, Mr. Smith is best suited for a home without children under 13.Good with Other Pets?Mr. Smith has shown reactivity towards other dogs and should be the only pet in the household. He would do best without cats or small animals.Leash MannersMr. Smith is a strong, enthusiastic walker who pulls quite hard on the leash. Training with a front-clip harness or head halter, along with positive reinforcement techniques, would greatly benefit him.Overall HealthHealthy overall with no known medical issues.Behavior DeterminationExperienced Adopters - Mr. Smith requires a patient owner willing to work on his training and manage his anxiety with gentle guidance.Other Fun FactsMr. Smith loves to engage with people and enjoys mental challenges like puzzle toys and hide-and-seek games. He's sensitive and shy but blossoms with patience and care. Primary Color: Black Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 107 Age: 7yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
Desiel is my daughters dog, she is moving and can not take her dog. My daughter just had a baby, Desiel is gentle around the baby and he is very friendly with everyone. He does like to pull when I walk him, I am working on that, he also likes to chase squirrels. He gets excited when he sees other dogs but has not showed any aggression. He has a great personality and will make someone a great companion.
