Story
Jiraiya is a 3-year-old male akita. He is really chill. He just wants to be around people. He is crate trained and goes on two walks every day. He doesn’t play well with other animals. But he’s great with people. He is vaccinated & Micro-chipped. However, he is not neutered. Unfortunately, April 2024 was the last time I could afford to take him to the vet. I believe he is in good health. I’m happy to pass along any vet records or other info you might need. This isn’t something I ever thought I’d have to do, and it breaks my heart. This has been a hard decision, but with everything going on in my life right now, I think it’s what’s best for him. More than anything, I just want Jiraiya to be safe, happy, and loved.

Story
I ended up with Jax when someone who was not ready for a dog adopted him out, but if was sent back to the SPCA he was going to be put down. So I took him and been on the looks for a forever home. He is a good dog. He was abused when he was a puppy and has trust issues from that. It takes him a little bit to warm up to strangers, but he does he is the most cuddle dog you ever meet. He is about 2 years old. He needs a home where he can be given the time to adjust someone who is patient. He take an anxiety medication once a day. I have a bottle that will last a vary long time. I put stick them in can food. He is house trained. He’s a vary calm, relaxed, dog. He likes walks and tennis balls.I like to say he’s an old soul in a young dog. But not lazy he will go on hikes with you or play with other dogs. Over all a well rounded dog. Just needs alittle time to adjust to a new home.

Story
Kuma is a true original — a dignified, gentle soul wrapped in a big, fluffy Akita coat. At 7–8 years old, Kuma is in his golden years, and he’s more interested in sharing quiet moments than chasing tennis balls. He’s also surprisingly cat-like: he’ll rub against your legs, lean in for affection, and silently appear at your side when you least expect it. His calm presence brings a special kind of peace to your home. This 72-pound sweetheart has a surprisingly cat-like personality. He’ll rub against your legs for affection, quietly appear at your side, and follow you from room to room with calm devotion. He doesn’t need constant activity — just a peaceful space, a bit of structure, and someone who appreciates his quiet loyalty. Kuma would do best with someone experienced with Akitas or similar breeds who understands his independent streak and respectful boundaries. He’s easygoing, low-maintenance, and full of quiet charm. If you're looking for a companion to share slow mornings, peaceful afternoons, and sunny spots, Kuma is ready to be your shadow. *Reminder* We are currently facilitating adoptions through appointment only. Story
Kuma is an incredibly smart, affectionate, and social girl who absolutely adores people. At 5 years old, she's the perfect blend of playful energy and calm companionship. Whether it's a ride in the car, a squeaky stuffed toy, or a rubber chew, Kuma knows how to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. She's especially fond of salmon and turkey treats-surefire ways to win her heart! While Kuma is a total sweetheart with humans, she is reactive toward other animals when on leash and would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home where she can be your one and only. Her ideal family will appreciate her loyalty, intelligence, and gentle nature, while helping her continue to feel safe and secure.Kuma is waiting to ride shotgun on your next road trip! Story
Tyson is a 3-year-old, 100 lb Akita. With a heart filled with love, his spirit is unbreakable. Despite a rough start to life—he was found tied to a chain and living in a shed—Tyson shows unstoppable resilience and kindness. This gentle, fluffy giant is friendly with both dogs and people. However, in our care, Tyson has not lived with other dogs. Tyson ensured too much in his short life. Luckily, he never let his adversities change his sweet, trusting nature. Tyson is a wonderful companion. With the right family, his big handsome, social, affectionate, goofball of a bear will shine.  Tyson is housebroken, crate-trained, and knows basic commands. He loves to play with toys and go for car rides. He would thrive in an Akita-experienced or open-to-learning home! Tyson just wants guidance and attention. He loves his humans unconditionally and hopes to find someone just as devoted to him. Due to his size and playful nature, Tyson should go to an adult-only home or one with older and dog-savvy teens/young adults.  If you’re looking for a loyal, loving friend to join your home, Tyson could be the perfect fit. Don’t wait—this incredible boy needs you now! If interested in adopting Tyson, please complete an application on our website at https://www.twentypawsrescue.com/forms-applications/ or email us at info@twentypawsrescue.com. Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
