Story
Beetle is a 3-year-old Akita mix with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. Sweet, playful, and incredibly smart, Beetle is the kind of dog who dives into life with enthusiasm—whether that’s a spirited game of tug-of-war, chasing a ball, splashing around in a kiddie pool, or curling up close to his favorite people afterward (yes, he will happily sit right in your lap).Beetle is affectionate and people-oriented, thriving on connection and quality time. He loves learning and is currently working on his training, including impulse control and using his mouth appropriately when he gets excited. He’s picking up cues like “drop” and benefits from clear guidance, structure, and consistency—something he responds to very well thanks to his intelligence and eagerness to engage. This big guy does best with someone comfortable handling large dogs who can continue reinforcing his training and provide a predictable routine. He enjoys playgroups and has done great meeting people and dogs, especially those who enjoy a more physical, wrestling-and-chasing style of play. He may be a bit much for softer or more gentle dogs, so thoughtful introductions are key. A cat-free home is likely best.Beetle regularly goes on Doggy Day Outs and shines in those environments, showing just how loving, fun, and special he is outside the shelter. With the right home—one that appreciates his energy, brains, and affection—Beetle will be a deeply loyal, joyful companion. If you’re looking for a smart, playful dog who’s ready to keep learning and loves hard once he’s yours, Beetle might just be your perfect match. This dog would greatly benefit from a foster home where they can continue to thrive and blossom. Story
Wolfie is a sociable, energetic boy who loves people and enjoys meeting other dogs, though he can be intimidating at first and may need a confident introduction before he settles in. He’s eager to play and he has a playful streak with water hoses that never fails to bring a smile. He weighs 89 pounds and is approximately 3-4 years old.??Wolfie is still learning the leash. He is learning to come when called and sits nicely when prompted. He is a homebody at heart, but he still needs plenty of exercise to burn off his occasional bursts of energy. He also enjoys walks with his humans.??Located in Houston, Texas. Transport to most states available for an additional fee of $300.

Story
Malcolm is a 5-year-old Akita who has been a beloved family dog. He originally belongs to my brother, but due to unforeseen circumstances, my brother had to move in with me. Unfortunately, I already have a dog who does not get along with other animals, so we are seeking a new home for Malcolm where he can thrive. Malcolm is a well-trained, house dog weighing about 125 lbs. He is calm, very loving, and well-mannered. We are looking for a home, ideally a single-pet household where he can receive plenty of affection, stability, and space to continue being the gentle, loyal companion he is. 🐾

Story
Ranger belonged to our son who became very ill and we are re-homing for him. We are thoroughly enjoying Ranger; however, we are anxious for him to develop a relationship with his new family. He needs a family with other pets and a yard to play - he loves playing outside. He is very loving and affectionate and loves his naps. He is not a dominant dog.

Story
Say hello to Ranger! Ranger is a bouncy husky looking for an active home where he can continue in his training quest to be an NBA dunk superstar - this boy has got some serious "ups" and can easily get some good air time! A 6ft fence has nothing on this athletic canine - Ranger views it as merely an obstacle to be conquered. He loves to play with dog friends, splash around in the water, and destroy stuffies - but he's also a huge love bug who relaxes calmly in his kennel when it's time for some R&R. Ranger actually has been at our shelter before and was adopted out by an owner who then left him behind after moving away. He was taken in by a friend but now, sadly, is looking for his "third-time's-the-charm" home as that owner's health has declined such that he can no longer care for him. Ranger loves affection, is working on his leash skills, and is ready to bounce his way into your heart! He would love a home with a dog sibling to play with and a human sibling or two would be the icing on his cake! If Ranger sounds like the adventure buddy you've been seeking, call the shelter to arrange to meet him. A handsome floof like him won't last long!

Story
Meet Rover: this big guy loves to be around you no matter what you're doing. He may be well past his puppy stage, but this 5-yr-old boy knows how to sit, shake and spin! Who says older dogs can't learn new tricks? Rover loves to play and to be outside with his foster siblings. Loud noises like thunder or fireworks are still a bit scary, but with the help of his foster mom Rover is getting used to being an inside couch potato, learning a few manners, and getting better everyday! He goes potty outside and will let you know when he has to go. Like most dogs, he absolutely love treats - pig ears are his favorite! - and soft blankets! He is coming around to learning his name in all its variations (RoRo) and enjoys spending time playing with his human and canine siblings. Rover is just a sweet and lovable boy in search of his forever family. Could that be you? Call to meet Rover today!
