Story
Bandit is officially THE CUTEST akita/husky that we've ever seen! He was surrendered when his owner was moving and couldn't bring him along. He is 1.5yo, house trained and good with other dogs, cats, and older kids. His owner reports that he's very loyal with his people. He is crate trained and does best being crated when his people leave the house. He does guard his food, so it would be best if he's fed away from other animals and kids. His owner believes he would be best in a "one owner household". If you think Bandit would be a good fit for you, meet him today! He's a 100% certified good boy!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 5, 2024, 1:04 pm

She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, on flea/heartworm prevention, house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. Gabby came to us with her parents, Kiyoko and Keito, and her two brothers, Gabe and Gordon. They had all been left in the care of a friend of their owner when he fell on hard times. After several months, he told the friend to go ahead and find somewhere for them to go. Gabby was adopted out in 2020, but returned due to a tragedy in the family. She would do well in a home by herself or with the right male, canine friend.

Valerian was surrenderd to the shelter in Chesapeake, VA when the owner could no longer care for him. He had previously lived outside in a pen and was uncertain and stand off-ish when he first came to us, but he warmed up to a goofy, woo-ing, wiggle butt boy. He is just so sweet! Valerian would be fine in a home with children 12+ due to his high energy level and as an only pet.

Story
Meet Chandler a 6 month old husky mix that came to us from a local transfer partner. Chandler will need a very patient and understanding family as he has little to no socializing or training. We are requiring a single family home so no apartments for this big loud boy! Any children in the home we would recommend 6 and older as he is not aware of personal space just yet and will for sure be a looney tune once he leaves these walls haha (with that, keep in mind behavior is different in a shelter vs. a home setting). He still needs help walking on a leash but the kennel team has been putting in the work to make it a little easier on his future family! He has gotten use to our potty schedule but he is still a puppy and doesn't have the same structure he would in a home so he does still have accidents here and there but is on the right track and will just need you to lay the law down for him! He does really really well with a roommate so if you have another canine in the home he would absolutely love that! We will require all residents in the home to meet prior to adoption and this will include any canines in the home as well. If you would like to meet Chandler or have further questions please see our kennel staff who will be happy to help.
