Story
Miller is a sweet and playful boy looking for his forever home. His ideal day includes playtime with his favorite stuffies, rolling in dry grass and bushes on a long walk, and a car ride to the nearest drive-thru coffee shop for a pup cup. Miller does great on a leash, but we are still working on some manners when we walk by other dogs and people because he wants to be EVERYONES best friend! Miller loves meeting new people and guests, he treats everyone he meets like he has known them for life. Miller is making good improvements in crate and house training and these skills should continue to improve when he is adopted. He is not very food motivated, but will beg for ice cubes every time you open the freezer door. Miller is truly a versatile dog, whether you want a hiking buddy or a couch potato. Apply to adopt your new best friend today!

CHINA- 5-6 Years Old, House Trained, Skin Issues, Good with Older Kids & Dogs.    China was surrendered due to no fault of her own.  China does have some skin issues and fur loss as you can see, which we are checking out here with our vet. She was able to roam free in the home with no issues. She is said to enjoy balls, frisbees, plush squeaky toys, and tug toys, super playful girl!  She has been known to escape her yard a few times, so we recommend a privacy fence or leash walks for this adventurous girl. She is describes as very smart, friendly, loving affection. She has been friendly and playful with older kids and dogs. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 4, 2025, 10:59 am

Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
https://foha.org/pet/kai2024/ ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Hi, I’m Kai — a one-year-old Shepherd mix with soulful eyes, a gentle heart, and a deep love for people I trust. I may be shy at first, but once we’ve had a proper sniff and a quiet introduction, I’ll be nudging your hand for more pets and offering you my full attention. I thrive in calm, structured environments and enjoy having a job to do—whether it’s chasing a tennis ball, walking by your side, or lounging after a fun play session. I walk well on leash, I’m athletic (hello, hops!), and I absolutely love fetch. Sometimes I’ll even drop the ball right into your hand. While I’m still working on my confidence and consistency with housetraining, I’m incredibly eager to learn and bond. I do best with patient humans who are home often and willing to work with me through some anxiety and a few quirks that make me, well, uniquely Kai. HOW AM I WITH DOGS: I’m dog-selective. I do best with respectful, friendly female dogs who give me space and good vibes. With the right match and a slow intro, I can enjoy doggy companionship. HOW AM I WITH CATS: Unknown, but given my interest in small animals and birds, I would likely do best in a cat-free home. HOW AM I WITH KIDS: I’m very fearful around children and feel safest in an adult-only home. I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: Fetch champion! I’m working on basic commands and eager to learn more with positive training. MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: I’ve had some challenges with potty training and am not currently crate trained, but I do well with structure and routine. FOHA can offer guidance and support to help me adjust. THINGS I LIKE: Fetch • Quiet walks • Exploring with dog buddies • Treats • Sniffing games • Calm voices • Building trust with “my” people THINGS I DISLIKE: Loud or fast-paced environments • Being left alone for long periods • Small animals • Sudden introductions or crowds FOHA ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCESS: https://foha.org/pet-adoption/adoption-policies ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, distemper & Bordetella), 1-month access to Petcademy for training and behavior support, slip lead leash, 1 bag of starter food, 1-month flea/tick & heartworm preventatives, diagnostic testing, and any additional medical care recommended by our vet.

Story
Sable is a young (born 5.5.22) spayed female Akita. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, on flea/heartworm prevention, heartworm negative, house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. Sable was initially surrendered to us after a Good Samaritan saved her from being left in a crate outside a store. She was adopted in July 2022, but, as she matured, she began to fight with another dog in the home. Sable is a sweet girl, but is a bit shy in general, and dog reactive to dogs who are loud or reactive themselves. Sable would be fine in a home by herself or with a mellow male canine friend.
