Story
Meet Nova Simone, a 1.5-year-old Husky mix with a heart as big as her energy levels! Nova Simone is looking for a teammate who understands that beneath her zest for life is a sensitive soul looking for the right lead.Nova Simone’s absolute favorite place to be is in a fenced-in backyard, zooming around with her ball. She is a high-energy girl who would love a yard where she can run to her heart`s content! While she loves people, she is a `conflicted` girl who is still learning how to balance her big excitement with her need for personal space.Like most huskies, Nova is very expressive but can get overwhelmed easily, especially in high-traffic environments like a kennel. When she’s feeling nervous or unsure, she may use her mouth to communicate that she needs a break. Because she is still learning how to navigate big emotions, she is looking for an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teenagers who can respect her space and follow her lead. She is a bright `blank slate` who will thrive with positive reinforcement. She needs a patient home that prioritizes a slow decompression period, allowing her to settle in at her own pace before jumping into big adventures.Nova Simone hasn`t spent much time around other dogs. Given her strength and her need for a focused environment, she’d likely do best as the center of attention or would require very slow, structured introductions to other dogs.True to her Husky roots, she has a high prey drive; a home without cats or small animals is a must.Nova Simone is a beautiful spirit just waiting for someone to show her the ropes. If you have a stash of tennis balls, a love for the `Husky howl,` and a commitment to helping a sensitive dog find her confidence, she might be your perfect match!Nova Simone is spayed and has received core vaccinations (bordetella, canine distemper, rabies), flea + tick preventative, has been dewormed, and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Nova Simonne, reach out to us at 920-733-1717 or adopt@foxvalleypets.org.
