Story
·Intake Reason: Surrendered due to financial/moving·Weight: 90 lbs. Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Lived with 7 yr SF Pit x ·Kids: Done well with kids ages 6, 7, 16 & 17 ·Personality: Very lovingHi ya, my name is Rocky and I am in the market for a new home. I lived with a great family for quite a while and things were grand. There was a boatload of kids to hang out with and a fun pooch to play with. Unfortunately, they needed to find ways to cut costs, so we thought it was best that I look for a new family. Since I am a fantabulous pooch, we figured I would find a loving home in no time. I am comfortable in a crate and would spend my alone time in a cozy little den where I could snooze. When my people were around, I could tell them I needed to use the outdoor facilities by running to the door but if I was alone and not in my crate, sometimes I would have accidents. It would be nice if I did not have to wait too long between breaks, so maybe I could have scheduled bathroom breaks throughout the day. In my previous home I got to sleep in my person's bed at night and that was grand; we could snuggle all night long. I must confess that I am a bit on the portly side, so I would love to start an exercise routine with you to get daily activity and perhaps lose a pound or two. I do enjoy walking, getting outside and soaking in all the awesome smells; I am a strong boy and pull a bit on a leash, but that is simply because I am ecstatic to be exploring with you. I am a friendly boy who greets all who approach; I do like humans. In fact, I like them so much that I get excited and jump up to say ‘hi'. Apparently, there are those folks who do not appreciate a 90-pound pup trying to give them a hug, so perhaps I should practice some manners. I do know the cues for ‘sit', ‘down' and ‘paw/shake' so maybe we can work on doing a behavior that is incompatible with jumping when I meet someone. I have also been practicing the cue ‘stay' so I am hoping you can continue that and even teach me more human words; I am very smart and like to stay busy and keep learning. I am outgoing and playful; just a cheerful pup who is a friend to all. I have been described as active, independent, quiet and affectionate but can be a smidge stubborn. If you are looking for a very loving pup who is handsome, friendly and cheerful, I believe your search is over because you have discovered me. Stop by to meet me in person and let's get this lovefest started.#1

Story
Dumplin' would be the perfect addition this Holiday season! This beautiful girl appears to be very calm and well-mannered, taking treats very gently and asking politely for butt scratches, which seem to be her absolute favorite thing! She can sit on command and also appears to know the command ""off"". She walks fairly well on a leash and tolerates being brushed fantastically. Her calm temperament makes her a good candidate for a home with children however, we don't know for sure if this is accurate. Dumplin' appears to be house-trained and is very good about keeping her kennel space clean and tidy.Ready to meet our sweet Dumplin'? Fill out an adoption application and if approved we will contact you within two days to set up a 60-minute meet-and-greet/adoption appointment. Please apply for me at hopingfurahome.com or on Facebook (403644-DS) **Meet a greets for approved applicants must happen within 3 days or the closest weekend (for long travelers). It’s in the dog/puppy best interest to be placed into their furever homes in a timely fashion. All household members must attend the meet and greet. Special Needs – Mylah was surrendered with a horrible skin condition. Under HFAH care, she underwent an aggressive treatment plan which has her skin healed very well. Mylah will need an adopter committed to continuing her monthly Nexgard to keep her skin healthy. Mylah loves to play with toys and balls, she will entertain herself for quite a while tossing them around. She also plays well with dogs her size, unfortunately she thinks smaller dogs and cats are also chew toys. Mylah is a chatty girl and will talk with you when playing. After playtime she’ll curl up on the doggy bed for a nap quite contently. She is very good with being crated and considers that her “home”. She’s very treat motivated and will sit and take a treat nicely. We are working on lay down, although the alure of the treat is sometimes to great to stay in “down” Mylah’s skin condition made her feet very sensitive. She is still not fond of them being handled and needs continued training to be less sensitive about them. Mylah’s treatment included medicated baths, which would be beneficial to be continued. She is hesitant to get in the tub, but I am able to pick her up and place her in the tub without much struggle. Once in the tub, she is cooperative and will stand nicely to be bathed. Mylah has a lot of love to give to the special person that is wiling to be her forever guardian – is that you?!
