Story
Aramis, affectionately known as Ari. Ari is a 7.5-year-old spayed female Alaskan Klee Kai with a gentle soul and a quiet, observant nature. She recently came from a commercial breeder release, so she’s still learning what it means to be a beloved family dog—but she’s already showing so much potential in the right environment. Ari finds comfort in having her own safe space, especially her kennel, where she can relax and decompress. While it may take her a little time to settle in for the night, she’s learning that home life comes with routines and security—and a little smooth jazz seems to help lull her off to sleep. She enjoys being near her people and other dogs—from a distance—and will happily lounge on a blanket in the living room while you go about your day. Just being in the same space helps her feel included and safe. She’s beginning to explore her playful side, showing interest in other dogs with short bursts of excitement. A calm, confident canine companion could be a wonderful role model for her as she continues to come out of her shell. Ari is still building trust with humans. She’s not actively seeking out human touch. She will tolerate it when putting on collar/leash/harness but isn't coming up seeking out pets. Ari is getting more comfortable relaxing near others in the house and she will gently take treats from your hand—a big step forward! With patience, consistency, and a quiet home, she will continue to gain confidence at her own pace. She’s also making great strides potty training when kept to a strict routine. She's slowly become more comfortable with leashes, toys, and all the little joys of life inside a home. Ari is looking for a compassionate, patient adopter who understands that love sometimes starts at a distance. With time, kindness, and understanding, she has the potential to blossom into a deeply loyal and special companion.

Story
Say hello to Equay. She came to TCHS as a transfer from another facility. The previous facility noted Equay has done well with other dogs, cats, and children! Slow and proper introductions to resident pets and children are always recommended when bringing a new animal into the home. Ask a TCHS staff for tips on how to ease the transition. She came to TCHS with heartworm; treatment has been started while in the shelter, but follow-up vet care will be needed after adoption. Exercise restriction for several weeks will be needed to help her recover from the illness. Equay is a very sweet girl who will put her whole body into pets! She loves a good booty scratch. She already knows "sit" and is very skilled at catching treats in her mouth. She can be a bit of a Houdini and has been known to sneak out. Equay would love to have durable toys to chew on and keep her entertained. Patient and consistent training using treats is a good way to work on obedience cues. Ask a TCHS staff about training and suggestions for the perfect toy for your new friend from the TCHS Re-Tail Shoppe. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling 320-252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. Say hello to Rosalie! She came to TCHS as a transfer from another facility. She spent some time in foster care to grow big prior to finding her new home! Her foster says she is very smart and vocal! She even knows the commands "sit" and "come" and will listen very well. She is a big fan of playing in the grass, playing tug-o-war, and playing with squeaky toys! She has a ton of energy and would benefit from a fenced-in yard to run around in. Some loud noises, like mufflers and Harleys, tend to scare her though, but with time, this may get better. Come meet Rosalie today! *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling 320-252-0896.
