Meet Leilei, a five-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix weighing 55 pounds.Leilei is a lovely, easygoing girl who is ready to find a family to call her own. She was found as a stray and cared for by her finders for a time, but they were ultimately unable to continue caring for her. During her stay with them, they learned that Leilei is a friendly and affectionate companion who gets along well with men, women, and children. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people, Leilei warms up quickly and soon shows off her sweet personality. She enjoys spending time with her people, loves treats, and has a charming talkative side that makes her even more endearing. Whether she`s quietly relaxing at home or accompanying you on an outing, Leilei is happy to be part of the action. One of Leilei`s favorite activities is going for walks, and she walks nicely on a leash, making her a wonderful companion for daily strolls. Best of all, she`s past the puppy stage, so she`s ready to settle into a home without the constant chaos and training demands that often come with young puppies. If you`re looking for a low-key, affectionate dog who enjoys companionship, walks, and the occasional tasty treat, Leilei could be the perfect fit. Story
Meet Spila (pronounced `Speelyi`, meaning Coyote), a five-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix weighing 51 pounds.Spila is a smart, playful girl who`s ready to find a home where she can finally relax, feel safe, and truly be herself. She was brought to the shelter by Animal Control, and while we don`t know much about her past, it`s clear that the kennel environment has been stressful and confusing for her. Inside the shelter, Spila can seem unsure and overwhelmed—but take her outside, and you get to meet a completely different dog. Her playful, affectionate personality comes shining through, and you can see the wonderful companion she`s capable of becoming.Spila is a clever girl who already knows several commands, including `sit,` `sit pretty,` and `shake`! She is very treat motivated, enjoys learning, and loves squeaky toys. She is also kennel trained and responds well to `kennel up.` She`s a quick learner and would thrive with a family that enjoys continuing her training and keeping her mind engaged.Spila has plenty of personality, including her silly side—her nickname is Silly-Billy for a reason! She loves to have fun and will keep you entertained with her goofy antics. She`s also a natural mouser, so if you have a small critter problem, Spila may be happy to help take care of it!When it comes to walks, Spila does fairly well on a leash, though she can be a little stubborn with people she doesn`t know yet. Once she trusts you, she is happy to look to you for guidance and build that special bond. You may notice a mysterious scar on Spila`s side—a reminder that she has lived a life before coming to the shelter. We don`t know how she got it, but it doesn`t define her. Spila is ready to leave her past behind and focus on the happy future she deserves.Spila would do best in a home without young children where she can settle in at her own pace. She may also prefer a home without other large, dominant dogs. If there are other dogs in the home, a meet-and-greet will help determine if everyone is a good match.Spila is looking for a patient, committed family who will give her the time, consistency, and love she needs to feel secure. In return, you`ll gain a loyal, intelligent, funny companion who will reward your trust with endless affection and a lifetime of love.Could Spila be the silly, smart best friend you`ve been searching for? This pet is available for adoption on 7/4/2026 10:56 AM

Meet Princess, a two-year-old Husky mix weighing 46 pounds.Princess is a wonderful medium-sized pup with a big heart and a whole new life ahead of her. She was rescued by Animal Control after being seized from a home where she and many other dogs were living in neglect. Now, she’s ready to discover all the things she’s been missing out on—long walks, new smells, soft beds, kind people, and the simple joy of being a loved dog.Princess already enjoys leash walks and exploring her surroundings, making her a fun companion for someone ready to help her experience the world. And at a great medium size, she’s just the right size for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between! She’s ready to leave her past behind and start learning what it means to be safe, loved, and cared for. Story
Meet Chimkin, a six year old Husky mix weighing 55 pounds.Chimkin has been through more than any dog should have to endure, but he is still holding onto his gentle, friendly spirit. When he arrived, he had a severe infected wound on his face that required sedation, cleaning, and stitches. Thankfully, he is now healing well and receiving the care he deserves.X-rays showed that his hips and knees look good, but he does have several areas of spondylosis, most notably around his lumbosacral and cranial lumbar spine. Because of this, Chimkin may need ongoing, potentially lifelong medication and veterinary care to help manage his back. His experiences have clearly taught him to be cautious. Chimkin seems like a dog who has had to fend for himself for quite some time. He is friendly, but he keeps his heart close rather than giving it away to everyone he meets. He may take time to trust and truly bond with his person, but we believe that once he chooses you, you will have a deeply devoted companion for life.Chimkin is good on leash, knows “sit,” and has the most striking mismatched eyes. He deserves a quiet, patient home where he can finally learn that people can be kind, dependable, and safe.Chimkin may not be the dog who instantly throws himself into your arms, but he could be the dog who slowly becomes your most loyal friend. This pet is available for adoption on 8/14/2026 4:56 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
