Story
Ignacio (Iggy) is a stunning blue-eyed Alaskan Malamute mix that joins our rescue from Pinal County Animal Care & Control. Found as a stray, Iggy went into the shelter a shy and timid boy. Over time he let his walls down and shined as an amazing, playful pup. Iggy can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but with time he builds his trust to show his amazing personality. He’s sweet, gentle, goofy and playful. Iggy learned to love affection at his time at PCACC — especially belly rubs. Iggy walks well on leash and knows basic commands. He is dog-friendly with proper introductions and loves to play chase with his doggy friends. Iggy would do best in a home that can provide comfort and be patient as he decompresses. His independent nature needs time to build trust with his person, then he will turn into your best friend for life. Have a pup in the home already? Iggy would do well with a playmate that enjoys playful, puppy play styles.

Story
Meet Clyde! He is a Husky Mix who is 4 years old and was E-Listed at MCACC for his medical needs. Clyde has come so far since he joined us - he was in a ton of pain at first! He was incredibly sweet when we met him in the shelter, and it was clear that his pain was getting in the way of how much love he had to give. Luckily, a medically experienced foster was able to open their home to Clyde where he could have his own safe space. Since intake, Clyde saw an orthopedic specialist and was diagnosed with carpal hyperextension and hip dysplasia. He got some fancy custom made braces (over $1k that are now his for life - they go with his adopter!) for his front legs to manage his hyperextension, and though he can be a sassy howly husky about putting them on, they already seem to be helping him a ton on walks. The specialist did not believe he needed surgery for his hip dysplasia at this stage and his foster says he is not doing very well with his front legs stabilized. He gets joint supplements and fish oil to help! He can't jump up on the bed but does well with doggy stairs. His adopter should not expect a high energy exercise partner, but short to medium range walks suit him well - he also has great leash manners! Clyde is very playful and loves his toys. He had some minor instances of resource guarding initially with other pets while adjusting to the home, but has made huge strides in all the time he's been with us. He responds very well to correction and redirection. While he is not a fan of booty or belly scratches, Clyde will take every opportunity to hold paws with you! He's also a huge cuddler how he's comfy. He is full of sass, talks back and grumbles to let you know when he is upset. Clyde is very vocal - just like we would expect for a Husky! Clyde could do well both as an only dog or with other dogs in the home. He is playful with the other dogs in his foster home (both small and large), but also enjoys his space. He has also adjusted to living with a kitty so well that he now loves and plays with his foster cat sibling! Clyde still has some days where he's a little more sore, so we think older kids would be best. Overall, Clyde would prefer a calm and relaxed home. Clyde is such a special boy - he's looking for someone equally special to give him the forever home deserves. Grandpa is a previous rescue and has come a long way since being adopted. He has had rigorous training and responds well to learning commands. He already knows, sit, down, place (get in kennel), go to bed (in kennel), come, go, wait, leave it, and heel (walk on left side while you walk). He is still capable of learning more. He is not destructive when left alone. He is triggered by the doorbell and spends a good portion of his day sleeping by the door. Once the weather is nice, he wants to be outside as much as possible. In the evenings, he will play with his ball. He is a great companion with very little day to day needs. Grandpa was attacked before he was adopted and is very reactive. He does need to be the only pet in the home. He gets along with most humans, but he is very sensitive to the energy of those around him. He is fine with children, but he can take on a protective role to visitors while around the children. Grandpa is a wonderful dog, and would thrive in a slow paced home where he can lay out in the sun outside. He loves his belly rubbed and wants some pets when you are home, but he is otherwise a very independent dog and loves to just observe the world around him. He is currently taking glucosamine supplements, but a healthy dog. Grandpa is a wonderful dog that needs some extra understanding for his previous background. Meet Grandpa today!
