Shaggy is a 58-pound Alaskan Malamute with a friendly, social personality and a big love for life. He enjoys playing with toys, going on walks, and soaking up all the love and attention he can get. Shaggy is a great dog who gets along well with others and does an excellent job respecting different play styles. He walks nicely on leash and is always happy to head out for an adventure. Shaggy does have three legs, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit—he still loves to play, romp, and be part of the action just like any other dog. A meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure he’s the perfect fit for your home. Shaggy is ready to bring joy, companionship, and lots of fun to his new family! ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Weighing around 75 pounds, this one-year-old is ready to bring his loyal and playful personality to a forever home.Maxx is a dog with character. He loves plush toys and squeakers, staring at his reflection, and a good game of basketball. He is an independent companion who appreciates his own space but is always ready to lend a helping paw, whether it be by pushing open doors to help bring in groceries or ringing the doorbell. His most endearing trait is the warm, cuddly welcome he gives when his people return home.He has a fantastic foundation thanks to his foster family. Maxx is house-trained, crate-trained (and prefers to sleep in his crate even with the door wide open), and knows basic commands like `sit` and `stop.` He loves his walks and is making great progress on leash manners, though he will do best with a confident walker who can continue his training.
