Story
Meet Lexie – A Playful, Vocal Husky Who’s Blossoming More Each Day Lexie is a beautiful 10-year-old Husky weighing 50.5 pounds, and she’s ready to find her perfect forever home. Don’t let her age fool you—this girl still has plenty of personality and joy to share! Lexie can be a bit nervous at first, but in her foster home she’s slowly starting to come out of her shell and show her true self. With patience and love, her confidence continues to grow each day. She walks nicely on leash and absolutely loves going on strolls with her foster family. Walk time is one of her favorite parts of the day, and she’ll happily trot alongside you, taking in all the sights and smells. When she gets excited, she’s starting to show off her Husky charm by becoming a bit more vocal—just her way of sharing her enthusiasm! This playful pup is a big fan of toys… especially when it comes to shredding them. If you’ve got a toy basket, Lexie will happily help you “organize” it in her own unique way. It’s all part of her fun-loving spirit! Lexie is also making great progress with grooming. While it’s not quite her favorite activity yet, she’s learning to enjoy the attention and is becoming more comfortable with the process over time. With her sweet nature, playful energy, and growing confidence, Lexie would love a home where she can enjoy daily walks, plenty of toys, and a family who will give her the time and reassurance she needs to continue blossoming. Could Lexie be your new best friend? ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Oliver is a 10-year-old Husky weighing about 60 lbs. He can be a bit timid and shy when first meeting new people or entering new environments, but once he has time to settle in, his gentle nature begins to show. Oliver gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their companionship. Because compatibility is important, a meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure a good fit for everyone involved. While Oliver is a senior, he is still a Husky at heart—an active, intelligent breed that needs an adopter committed to keeping both his mind and body stimulated. With the right balance of patience, activity, and love, Oliver will make a wonderful and loyal companion. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet.
