Meet the fabulously fluffy Balto! He`s a 4-year-old, 110-pound Northern Inuit dog, which is most commonly a mix of Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Husky, and German Shepherd. This mix makes for an amazingly gorgeous, wolf-like dog with a friendly personality.Balto loves people and does well with children. Sometimes he`s a little bigger than he knows, however, so he does best when monitored around small kiddos. He previously lived with small children whom he loved to play with and give hugs to. He also lived with cats, dogs, and small livestock. However, his previous family discovered he would do best in a home with no cats or small livestock, as he has a strong prey drive.Balto does well with female dogs but needs to be monitored around male dogs, as he can get a little protective. Balto can be a little wary of men at first, as he`s naturally a ladies` man. However, he`s already met some men here at the shelter and warms up fast!Balto is fully potty trained, loves playing with toys, and likes to sleep on the floor where he can spread out his long legs! He`s a big guy who requires a big amount of attention.Balto is microchipped, vaccinated to age, and available for foster to adopt until he`s scheduled for his neuter at The Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter. You can visit him Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.
