Story
Balto is a 3 year old Alaskan Malamute with a gentle soul and a heart that is just beginning to experience the comforts of home life. He was rescued after living outside alone, and he is now learning what it means to be part of a family. Like many Malamutes, Balto is intelligent, independent, and affectionate in his own way. This breed is known for being loyal, social, and people oriented, but also strong willed and slow to rush into new situations. Balto is getting used to living indoors and is making steady progress. He is currently working on crate training, though he does best when outside of the crate and is happiest having space to relax and settle in on his own terms. Balto does great with other dogs, cats, and kids. He has a calm, friendly nature and enjoys being around others without being overwhelming. An adopter with experience with Alaskan Malamutes or a similar northern breed would be a big plus, as they will best understand his needs and how to help him continue to succeed. Balto is looking for a loving home where he can finally feel safe, secure, and part of a family. Adoption fee is $350+tax, please apply at www.campcompanion.org
