Story
Meet our beautiful litter of Alaskan Malamute puppies — 3 handsome boys and 2 gorgeous girls, now 3 months old and growing fast into BIG kids! These fluffy babies are packed with personality, love, and energy. They absolutely adore water — sprinklers, kiddie pools, hoses… if there’s water involved, they’re the first ones in. With their thick double coats and giant paws, these pups are built for cooler weather and would love homes in colder parts of the country or with families who don’t mind keeping the air conditioning cranked up 😉 They’re playful, affectionate, and already showing the loyal, goofy, and loving temperament Malamutes are known for. If you’re looking for a future gentle giant with a big heart and an even bigger personality, one of these babies may be your perfect match. If you know this breed, you know they are not apartment dogs. Malamutes need room to stretch their legs, burn energy, and enjoy life. Because of that, we will not adopt this litter out to apartment homes. Local adoption fee is $350(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Name: Luka Sex: Male Color: Black & White Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 03/22/2022 (estimated) Weight: 60lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes, he has done great with all dogs. He has been in doggie daycare and socialized with many dogs. Small Dog Friendly: Yes, he has done great with all dogs. He has been in doggie daycare and socialized with many dogs. Cat Friendly: Unknown Crate Trained: He will whine for a minute or two at first but then calms down and does good for shorter periods during the day. He gets restless when kenneled at night and doesn’t sleep so we’ve had him sleep on a dog bed in our bedroom at night with no issues. Housebroken: Work in progress. He is heading in the right direction but has had the occasional accident and this is something his fur-ever family will need to continue to work on with him. Energy Level: Medium. He gets zoomies and loves to play but also loves to sleep in or take a long nap on the couch. He can be excited when at new places for the first time but once he gets comfortable he’s very chill. Reaction to New People: LOVES people and is very friendly. Kid Friendly: Yes, he has been exposed to kids of all ages and would be a great family dog. Would pair best with kids that understand dog safety as he sometimes doesn’t realize his size. Training: Knows his name & sit, walks good on a leash. Working on down, come, stay, potty training, etc. Grooming Needs: Typical husky grooming with weekly brushing. He loves baths and treats them like a personal spa day. Fence: 5 ft fence or higher is best. He is a typical husky escape artist and has gotten over our 4 ft fence before. 5ft fence is ok but a 6ft or privacy fence would be best. Solo or Siblings: Would make a great sibling and loves being around other dogs but can also vibe solo too. From the Foster: Luka is such a sweet dog. He is the perfect running, walking, and hiking buddy that is always down for an adventure. He also does great with down time and loves to cuddle up on the couch with you at the end of the day. He’s a lover not a fighter and LOVES to meet and be around people as well as other dogs. He’s very curious and loves to play with other dogs. He can be a bit high energy so not every dog wants to play back but Luka is a sweetheart. He has also done great with kids of all ages and is a gentle goof. He is a little clumsy and a typical husky so would do best with kids at an age like 7+ that understand dog safety. Luka was an outside dog and came to AAHMN as an unclaimed stray that had zero training and didn’t know how to play or just be a dog. In a short time, he has really blossomed and is eager to please. He’s figured out the joy of toys, pup cups, long walks, cuddles, and doggie play dates. He’s such a sweet dog and would make a great family dog or dog sibling. He still has more training to do and would thrive in a house that continues working on training with him. He also is an escape artist and with the right motivation can try to push boundaries so a home with a 5ft+ fence or higher is a must. He gets a little excited when in new places but settles in easy enough once he’s comfortable. Luka has a sweet personality and is relatively quiet but will give you some sweet husky woos and talk back on long car rides. Luka is a dog that will steal your heart and would be a great addition to any family. We are so excited for Luka to find his fur-ever family! Adoption Fee: $400 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Leptospirosis, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Story
Pearl is a very playful big girl so she would do best without children under 5. She gets the zoomies and will accidentally knock you over. Alot of these issues might be able to be solved with a trainer we don't have the time or money to do that. She would prefer to have a fenced in yard she loves the outdoors. She does not like other dogs since she was attacked on a walk while a young pup. She has never been around cats but she chases anything small like bunnies and squirrels so I wouldn't trust her. She will be turning 4 on May 10th. She is kennel trained. She would do best with someone experienced and confident to work out some of quirks. She's not a huge fan of being groomed. We have 2 small children at home and it's just not fair for her to live in a kennel. We would be interested in taking her back if she wouldn't work out in her new home. We have had her since 7 weeks and love her so much but just want what's best for her.

Story
Hi there! I’m basically your shadow with four legs and a wagging tail. If you’re looking for a dog who believes personal space is wildly overrated, I’m your girl. My favorite place in the world is right next to my person — on the couch, in the hammock, on a walk, supervising you in the kitchen, or curled up beside you while you relax. I’m a calm, affectionate sweetheart who loves cuddles just as much as I love making people laugh. If you pet me, I will absolutely lean my whole body into you like it’s my full-time job. I’m pretty laid back around the house and totally content lounging nearby with a puzzle toy or squeaky ball, but don’t let that fool you — I also love adventures! Walks are my favorite thing ever, and I’m happy no matter how long they are. I enjoy runs, sniffing new things, and playing fetch… although I like to add my own special version called “keep away first, fetch second.” One of my funniest habits is proudly bringing my toy back by casually walking past you first like I’m in a parade before finally handing it over. I’m super curious, confident around traffic and new environments, and smart enough to figure just about anything out… which brings us to my next disclaimer. I’m an extremely talented escape artist. Seriously. Houdini would be impressed. I love my people so much that being left alone is very hard for me, and I do have separation anxiety. If no one is around, I may sing you the saddest songs of my people while trying to engineer my escape from even the toughest kennel setup. But if someone is nearby? I can happily relax in my kennel all day without making a peep. Because of that, I’d thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time — work-from-home humans, stay-at-home families, retirees, or anyone who wants a constant companion would be my dream come true. I should also confess that I’m a bit of a counter surfer and opportunistic snack thief, so keeping food out of reach is definitely part of loving me! I’m potty trained on a schedule, though may have the occasional accident if unattended. I am great on leash, and I already know how to kennel on command once I trust you. I adore kids and greet everyone with excited tail wags and play bows, but I should mention I don’t quite understand that tiny humans may not appreciate surprise face kisses and enthusiastic jumping. I do best with male dogs and should avoid living with other female dogs as I have had past guarding behavior. Birds are also a no-go because my prey drive says “absolutely not.” At the end of the day, I’m just a goofy, stubborn, loving girl who wants to be adored as much as I adore my people. Give me your attention, your couch, and a secure “Alcatraz-level” kennel setup, and I’ll give you endless love, loyalty, laughs, and companionship in return.

Story
Keyoko is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She had been living a good life until her owner died and she - and her buddy Zeus - suddenly found themselves at the shelter with nowhere to go. One of our wonderful fosters has agreed to take both of them in until we can find their new forever homes. In addition, a kind supporter has sponsored part of her adoption fee to help her get settled soon. At 8yrs old, Keyoko is still playful and loves to cuddle with her people. She is looking for a safe and loving home. If you think that could be yours, click on the big black button marked "Ask About Me" and we will send you an application. This dog is being fostered in TN but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
