Story
Please say hello to Mr. Nash! Nash is an approx. 6-year-old mixed breed boy who came to us from Moose Factory. This handsome boy is as sweet as he is striking, super cuddly, affectionate, and happiest when hes soaking up love from his people. Nash has made wonderful progress with his house training and continues to improve each day. Hes crate trained (especially if there are treats involved!) and settles in nicely at night. On leash, hes enthusiastic and may pull when excited to see other dogs or animals (squirrels!), but with continued guidance hell keep getting better. He also rides calmly in the car and is a gentleman at the vet. Because Nash can be protective of treats and toys around other dogs, hes best suited as the only dog in the household. He has also shown some guarding behaviors with children when high-value items are involved, so hell thrive in a home without kids or with older, dog-savvy children. Nash hasnt been tested with cats, though he did show a little too much interest in them during a vet visit, so a cat-free home is recommended. Nash will thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention as the only dog, with no cats or small animals. Hell do best with adults or older, dog-savvy kids who understand the need to give him space around high-value items. What Nash really needs is a family committed to continuing his training and helping him feel secure. With consistency and love, hes sure to blossom into the loyal, affectionate companion hes meant to be. His foster family describes Nash as a cuddly, special boy who cant get enough of belly rubs and neck scratches. He adores his people and happily soaks up every bit of attention he can get. Nash spends much of his day lounging outdoors and is always up for a walk or an adventure. With his affectionate personality and love for the outdoors, Nash is sure to bring warmth, joy, and companionship to the right home. Story
Kai came to us as a transfer from another shelter, where he was found as a stray and never claimed. This handsome, strong-willed boy is now ready to find his perfect match—a dedicated and experienced caregiver who understands his unique needs. Kai thrives in an environment that offers structure and consistency. He forms deep bonds with his people and can be protective of both his loved ones and his personal space. Due to his protective nature, Kai would do best in a spacious home where he has the ability to be safely separated when visitors arrive. New introductions should be gradual, controlled, and involve proper muzzle training to ensure a positive and safe experience for everyone. While still refining his manners, Kai is making remarkable progress. He’s quickly picking up on positive behaviors, such as sitting for attention and treats. His intelligence is evident as he eagerly engages in training, and he’s making strides every day. At this stage in his journey, Kai would be most comfortable as the only dog in the home, as we continue to assess and work on his interactions with other dogs. The ideal home for Kai will be with experienced dog owners who are familiar with training protective behaviours. He’ll need a spacious, secure home with the option for separation, no other pets, and a commitment to continuing his training with patience, consistency, and understanding.
