Story
Meet Smokey Boy, a four year old Malamute/Saint Bernard mix weighing around 80 pounds.Smokey Boy was surrendered to Animal Control from a property that had too many animals and the owner was unable to care for them. They owner said he was a Malamute and Saint Bernard mix but we see some Australian Shepherd and maybe Great Pyrenees in him. Honestly, the only way to know his breed is to do a DNA test. Smokey was born on the property and had never been off it until ACOs took him. When he was with the owner he was friendly and outgoing but his whole world has been turned upside down so he is understandably very unsure. Right now we believe he would do best in a home with no young kids, but this could definitely change into the future as he opens up. He isn`t leash trained but that is something he will learn with time, he is already improving. Smokey Boy has met a smaller dog and has done well and was on a property with several other dogs. He just needs some time and understanding to open up and we are sure he will be your lifelong companion. Story
A nice family took in Mr. Ozzy when they found him dumped near their home. They didn't know that mom would be severely allergic. Ozzy is about a year young, playful, good with other dogs, and kids, and while we're not sure about cats, he seems like he'd be ok based on his reaction to seeing neighbor cats. Ozzy is very smart, loving, and generally quiet. He lets you know when someone comes around, but once he knows that their presence is ok, he's quiet as a mouse and just wants to be loved! Because he has to live outside, technically he's not housebroken, but if you have ever housebroken an adult dog, you know it's A LOT easier than housebreaking a puppy!! When the weather is nice, Ozzy is all about the H2O playtime.... sprinklers, lake, river, he's not picky! If you're interested in this sweet boy, please let us know today by applying through our website. Not to worry.... our application is relatively short. Increasingly, we are doing FOSTER TO ADOPT options! That’s where you and puppers make sure you’re a good fit for one another before signing on “the dotted line”….. it’s a win-win for everyone! Just ask your adoption counselor about how this works. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Interested in adopting this or another POPP dog?
