His owner, who loves him deeply, is facing serious health challenges and can no longer give Arthur the care and attention he deserves. It’s a heartbreaking decision, and the only wish is that Arthur finds an incredible family who will cherish him the way he’s always been cherished. Arthur is a friendly, lovable, peopleâoriented boy who seems to believe every human was put on Earth just to pet him. He happily allowed his evaluator to rub him all over, melting into the attention. He adores children of all ages and greets everyone with enthusiasm. Because of his size, he may accidentally knock over very small kids, but his intentions are always gentle and affectionate. He’s also a bit of a character — Arthur will hop into anyone’s car , loves being touched, and has a goofy, eagerâtoâplease personality. He knows basic cues like sit, shake, speak, down, come, and no , though whether he chooses to listen is… well, classic Malamute. Arthur has had little formal training, so he’ll need an adopter committed to working with him. On leash, he’s a strong puller, and if given the chance, he’ll take off running. He’s incredibly smart, athletic, and fast — and he loves to escape, explore town, make new friends, and occasionally help himself to a chicken dinner. A secure, tall fence (at least 6 feet) is a must for this adventurous boy. He can be reactive toward other dogs, but an experienced home with a confident companion dog could be a great fit. He thrives with space, activity, and a family who enjoys his big personality and bigger heart.
