Story
Meet Khumbu! This gorgeous girl came to the Mission as a transfer from SCRAPS. She's got an estimated birthdate of 03/11/2026.  Khumbu is settling in to her foster home nicely, and has already made friends with the resident dogs. She's interested in playing with the kitties, but seems friendly towards all other creatures so far! This girl is a bundle of energy, and loves to play with anything and everything. We're starting in on recall training and so far she's done excellent, and we will montior this closely as she grows.  She's very sweet and loving, and displays her affection with kisses. She already loves to play fetch, and play in a rambunctious nature with her co-canines.  Khumbu is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300, if you are interested in adopting Khumbu, please begin by filling out an application at www.murcismission.org. Thank you!  ##2786912##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Clyde — A Big, Goofy, Love‑Soaked Alaskan Malamute Looking for His Perfect Match If you’re searching for a dog who will make you laugh every single day, Clyde might be your guy. This oversized goofball is sweet, wiggly, talkative, and full of personality. He’s the kind of dog who trots over with his whole body wagging, “woo‑wooing” his excitement, and leaning in for affection like he’s convinced he’s lap‑dog sized. Clyde’s family loves him deeply, and the decision to rehome him has been heartbreaking. They simply want him to have the life he deserves—one with space, activity, and people who can keep up with his joyful energy. Living in a small apartment with young children has made it hard for them to give him the exercise and engagement he needs, and long kennel hours aren’t fair to a dog with this much zest for life. Clyde’s Personality & Behavior Super friendly, goofy, and affectionate — he warms up instantly and loves meeting new people. Talkative in classic Malamute style — expect woo‑woos, playful chatter, and lots of personality. Knows sit and paw, and he “kind of” knows down. Great on walks — he pulls a little from excitement but settles quickly and loves exploring. Dog social — he barks with excitement at seeing other dogs on his walks, then calmly walked away. What Clyde Needs Clyde is an active Malamute who is currently getting far less exercise than he needs. That pent‑up energy shows up as extra excitement, animation, and enthusiasm. He will thrive in a home that can offer: Plenty of daily exercise — walks, hikes, playtime, and mental stimulation. Room to move — a yard or outdoor space would be ideal. An active family who enjoys being outdoors and can include him in their routine. Clyde doesn’t know his own size, but he absolutely knows how to love. He’s a joyful, silly, affectionate companion who will reward the right adopter with endless laughs, loyal companionship, and a whole lot of woo‑wooing. If you’re ready for a big-hearted Malamute who brings sunshine and silliness wherever he goes, Clyde is waiting to meet you. Story
Meet Sequoia, a nine-month-old Malamute/German Shepherd mix weighing 60 pounds. Sequoia`s story hasn`t been an easy one. She came to us after being seized by Animal Control along with six other dogs. When she arrived, she had a large gash on her inner thigh that has since healed beautifully, but the emotional healing is still a work in progress. It`s clear Sequoia hasn`t had much exposure to the world. Walks on a leash, new people, new places, and everyday experiences are all unfamiliar to her. She`s a little flighty and unsure, but underneath that uncertainty is a truly sweet, gentle dog who wants to trust.Sequoia is friendly and has never been anything but kind—she just doesn`t know what to expect yet. She isn`t leash trained and will need a patient adopter who understands that building confidence takes time. Every small victory is a big step for her. With love, consistency, and gentle socialization, we believe Sequoia will continue to blossom into the wonderful companion she`s meant to be. If you have a calm home and the patience to let her learn at her own pace, you`ll have the privilege of watching this deserving girl discover that the world can be a safe and happy place.Could you be the one to give Sequoia the fresh start she deserves? This pet is available for adoption on 7/2/2026 2:03 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Magnolia, a nine-month-old Alaskan Malamute/German Shepherd mix weighing 65 pounds.Magnolia came to us after being seized by Animal Control along with six other dogs. Having spent her entire life indoors with very little socialization, everything she once knew has been turned upside down.Through it all, Magnolia has shown us what a wonderful dog she truly is. She`s absolutely stunning, with the classic German Shepherd personality to match—people-oriented, eager to please, and happiest when she`s with her humans. She forms connections easily and is looking for someone to guide her as she discovers how big the world really is.Magnolia is active, friendly, and has a fantastic demeanor. She`s still learning the basics, including leash walking, and will need continued training, plenty of TLC, and the patience to build her confidence. She`s a sensitive soul who responds best to gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement. With love, consistency, and a family willing to help her grow, Magnolia has all the makings of an incredible companion. She`s ready to leave her difficult past behind and find the forever home she deserves.Could Magnolia be the loyal best friend you`ve been waiting for? This pet is available for adoption on 7/2/2026 2:03 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
We are looking for a loving forever home for Bear, our 7-year-old Malamute mix. Bear is an incredibly sweet dog who thrives on attention and is wonderful with children. She is very independent and calm, she loves to go for walks and sniff the neighborhood. While Bear gets along well with other dogs, she is happiest when she has her own personal space. For this reason, we believe she would do best in a home where she can be the only dog. Bear is in good overall health—she had a clean bill of health at her vet appointment this past May—though she is currently on a weight-loss journey to get back to a healthy size. Due to unexpected life changes, we are sadly unable to keep her and want to ensure she finds a family that can give her the time and affection she deserves.
