*****FOSTER NEEDED!***** I am a sweet, loving girl! I am a very loving girl. I do, sometimes, take a little bit to warm up to new people but it doesn't take long, especially if you have treats! I love my treats. I'd do best in a home as an only dog. I have lived with cats and did very well with them. General Socialization Notes: I am a bit reactive on leash but I have worked on that. I can learn! I am very smart. I just need a human that will work on that with me so that I can improve. I love people and enjoy their company. Does Elphaba like other animals? I'd do best in a home as an only dog. I want all the love. I have lived with cats and I've done just fine. Does Elphaba like children? I do love children but I am a bit jumpy, at times, so I would be fine to live with children as long as there is monitoring and a human that will help me learn. Favorite Toys: I love fetch and I love playing with lots of toys. All toys are my favorite! Ideal Forever Home: I'd need a family that is willing to work with me and continue to train. I am very sweet and I love to spend time with my humans. I also would do best in a home as an only dog. I have lived with cats and did just fine.

Story
Meet Luis! Looking for a pup who can make you laugh, keep you moving, and fill your home with love? Say hello to Luis! This handsome boy is about six months old and already a total heart-stealer. He’s sweet, goofy, and full of puppy charm. Luis loves everyone he meets, but he especially adores other dogs — playtime is his favorite time! He’s a happy, high-energy pup who will thrive with an active family that can give him plenty of exercise, adventures, and snuggle time at the end of the day. He’s smart, eager to learn, and ready to keep growing into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. With a little training and a lot of love, Luis will be your best friend for life. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion who will bring endless smiles to your days, Luis might just be the perfect match! This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2552882##

Story
Meet Bella!  This adorable girl is about six months old and full of personality! Bella is as sweet as they come and loves attention — if there’s a human or another dog nearby, she’s ready to make a new best friend.  She’s a playful goofball who will keep you laughing with her happy energy and silly antics. Bella loves to run, play, and explore — she’s got that puppy zest for life! She’s definitely a higher-energy pup, so she’ll do best with someone who can give her plenty of exercise and mental fun (think walks, hikes, toys, and training time). Bella absolutely adores other dogs, so she’d love to have a furry sibling to play with, but she’ll also be just fine as an only dog with plenty of human love and attention. She’ll grow to be on the larger side, and like any young pup, she’s still learning her manners — but she’s smart, eager to please, and so worth the time and love.  If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion who’ll bring endless joy (and maybe a few giggles) into your life, Bella is your girl! This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Hi, I’m Guapo, a handsome, high-energy pup looking for a home that’s ready to keep up with me! I love to play, explore, and stay busy — whether it’s a long walk, a fun training session, or a good game of fetch.I can get a little mouthy when I’m excited, so I’ll need a mature home who understands that I’m still learning my manners and can give me plenty of positive outlets for my energy. Don’t worry, I come with a special visit from a member of the behavior team to help set me (and you!) up for success. If you’re looking for an active, affectionate, and entertaining companion who’s always up for an adventure, I’m your guy — Guapo!

9825100 - Meet Charlotte (a.k.a. Charlie)! Charlie is a 9-week-old American Bulldog mix with a bold, adventurous spirit. She’s the most outgoing pup in her litter—always the first to explore and try something new. Charlie loves romping around with her siblings and playing with the other dogs in her foster home, keeping everyone entertained with her lively personality. While she isn’t quite as snuggly as her sisters, Charlie still loves to show her affection in her own way—by curling up on your feet or settling down beside you after a fun day of play. This sweet, curious girl is ready to bring both energy and love into her forever home. To adopt Charlie, please complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##2511683##

Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED!!!  Dude, where's my dog? Oh wait, Dude is right in front of you! Sweet!  This sweet boy is an 8-year-old American Bulldog mix weighing in at 70 pounds of pure love. Seriously, we sometimes wonder if the amount of love he has is bigger than his body can hold! Dude is all about people - he loves them in every shape, size, and age. However, because he's a bit of a potato (in the best way), we recommend a home without small children, as he might accidentally knock them over. Dude is a training graduate, and boy, does he have some impressive skills! He's mastered commands like sit, and he's learned to sit at doorways, when greeting people, and even on walks when stopped, all through hand signals. This smart pup also knows down, stay, heel, come, and release, making him quite the obedient companion.  To keep this big-hearted boy happy and thriving, he'll do best in an active home with people who can exercise him daily, both physically and mentally. He absolutely adores going on walks and does great on a leash, especially when his leader helps him stay true to his training. With proper stimulation, exercise, and a whole lot of love, Dude will shower you with more love, wiggles, and joy than you can imagine! So, if you're interested in meeting Dude, don't hesitate to apply today. He's waiting to fill your life with endless happiness! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##397211##

These pups are in Colorado Springs, Colorado too!

Story
Whatever you’re doing, WE’RE doing together. I have a tough exterior but honestly, I just want to be around you. I am pretty cautious around new people however, I'm easily won over with treats. I just want to hang out with my people. I'm very calm and low energy 90% of the time. The other 10% is full on sassy personality. Don't you dare leave me at home if you go out to get coffee! I NEED a pup cup! When we're hanging out, I'll follow you everywhere like a shadow. When you're gone, I'll patiently wait to greet you with the excitement of best friends who haven't seen each other in years. I bark at new noises and I'll let you know somebody is at the door before they are able to knock. I'd do best in a home as an only dog. General Socialization Notes: I'm very good at just hanging out and blending into your routine. I like to wake up with you in the morning, eat with you, go with you to get coffee (so I can get a pup cup of course) and just generally be around you throughout the day. I know basic cues but I'm definitely not perfect. I'm also super sassy occasionally and will have a full on conversation with you. I'm terrified of people who are afraid of me. They make me feel very uncomfortable and I just struggle to be around people like that. I don't exactly “beg” for food but I will get close to you in hopes of getting a treat. I love my treats! I'm really great about letting you know I need to go outside to potty. I will scratch at the door to get your attention. Does Gideon like other animals? No other animals please. I do best when I can just hang out with my humans and relax. I had a sister doggo but that was years ago and since then, I am reactive to other animals. I MIGHT be able to adjust although it would take the perfect circumstances and some extreme patience with introductions. Does Gideon like children? I really like children from about 10 years old and up. I love to play “Blanket Monster” where my little humans hide under the blanket as I run around and nibble at them and try to uncover them. This always leads to hysterical laughter and a good time for all. I'm very gentle with my little humans. Younger kids scare me so I'd do best in a home without them. Favorite Toys: I don't really play with toys. I get my enjoyment from walkies, food time, pup cups and sun bathing followed by more walkies. Ideal Forever Home: My Ideal forever home is a family with older kids where somebody is almost always (if not always) home. A stay at home parent, a human that works from home, or a schedule that means I always have a human to hang out with is best. I would like a house with a yard (doesn't have to be big) where I can roam around the backyard and sunbathe whenever I feel like it. My ideal humans would be able to continue to feed me a fresh food diet. It's what has helped me stay so healthy and the food is SO GOOD! I need somebody who understands I'm an amazing doggo who just happens to be particular about certain things. I look forward to us getting to know each other!

Story
****FOSTER NEEDED!**** Rescuing Ranger Dog is ready for his furever home! I'm an extroverted guy who loves attention and being petted. I'm good at the groomers and have my basic obedience cues down. I have a sweet, sensitive soul. I love my ball and playing fetch means everything to me. I also enjoy adventures. What's not to love about me? General Socialization Notes: If it were up to me, I'd snuggle up to my family all day every day, or go on an adventures with them. I love car rides. I've learned to be quiet during the day at my foster mom's feet while she works. I used to get sad and anxious when she left, but I've become very familiar with going into my crate while she's gone or snuggling up on the couch until she returns. She also bought me a snuggle puppy stuffed animal that has a 'heartbeat' and I've loved curling up with it in my crate. It's really helped me settle in quickly in my crate! She also crates me at night when she goes to bed. I developed some noise sensitivity but it may have been due to stress. Does Ranger like other animals? I sometimes react to dogs on leashes and behind fences as I pass them, but I've been working really hard over the last month on my training and am getting better about ignoring them and not being as afraid they might pop out from the fence. I do resource guard so I might do best as an only dog. I tried to meet a cat once, but wasn't given ample time and boundaries to get familiar with the cat. If a family is interested in me that has a cat, I'll need time to warm up to it and proper introduction methods to see how I might do. I've been to a barn that houses horses, and was introduced to them while being on leash. I really wasn't interested in them and didn't react as I do with dogs while being on leash. When we ran out in the field where horses were being ridden, I was WAY more interested in a ball and playing fetch. Does Ranger like children? While I haven't been exposed to children, it might be best if children in the house were slightly older (8+). Sometimes I get really excited about toys, and I'm still learning the 'drop it' cue. A late grade school, middle schooler, and high schooler might better understand to be patient with me. Favorite Toys: My favorite activity has been going to a field and retrieving a thrown ball over and over again. Inside the house, I love playing fetch, but I also love playing keep away. It's so much fun! Really any dog toy will get me excited if my new family is willing to throw it for me! Ideal Forever Home: My ideal home would be one with a patient person or family who will love me unconditionally. I'd love a family that I can snuggle up to on the couch with, who will throw a ball or toy for me, and bring me along on their adventures and car rides! I would do best as an only dog. I love going for walks. If my next home has a fence around the yard or farm land, I'd love to spend time in the yard with them as they do yard work or play with me. I have a lot of love to give, and am ready to have a place in my furever home.
