Meet Fergus, a charming and well-behaved dog who is looking for a new home due to his humans having some serious health issues. Fergus is an absolute sweetheart who adores people of all ages, including children.  He is 5 yrs old and 65 lbs. He’s spent time  in a  home for  a while  and has learned the ropes and is now a pro at being the best boy ever!  Fergus is: •  Well-trained: He knows commands like sit, stay, down, place, heel, and more! •  Leash-savvy: Walks with Fergus are a dream—he’s got great manners on a leash. •  Affectionate and loyal: Fergus thrives on love and will be your shadow, always ready to cuddle or play. Fergus would do best as the only animal in the house. While he’s fantastic with people, he prefers being the star of the show and isn’t a fan of sharing his space with other dogs or cats.  Due to his breed, Fergus also has a sensitive stomach and after much trial and error, we have found a very good food for him.  It will be necessary for you to continue feeding him veterinarian-prescribed food, Hills Science Diet Gastro  Biome  dry food If you’re looking for a faithful friend who’s ready to give you endless love and companionship, Fergus is the perfect match! He’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and lots of tail wags to your life. With a successful adoption of Fergus, his current humans will be providing the following as part of the adoption: •  Oversized crate with bedding -  where  Fergus sleeps at night •  Additional comfy bed for anywhere else in your home •  Two cold weather jackets and one  raincoat •  Three six-foot nylon leashes •  Fergus’ most favorite toys for your home •  One full bag of Gastro  Biohm  Dry food Please apply to adopt Fergus at rescueridge.com and if your application is a possible match a volunteer will get back to you shortly.  No inquiry, please, without an application.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 20, 2025, 8:42 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER : Lively, Lovely, LaLa (palooza!) PERSONALITY : It's hard to believe that Lala hasn't been snapped up as yet. Lala has the perfect personality! She's smart and loves everyone and everything. There's not a mean bone in this girl's body. If you're looking for a dog with the personality of a potato, Lala is not the dog for you; lazy is not in Lala's DNA. If you want a hiking or running companion or a dog (with training) that would excel in lure coursing or any other high energy sport, Lala's your girl. Ahhh, if only there were a way to harness all that energy... FAVORITE ACTIVITIES : Lala is a high energy pup that loves to play with other dogs and fetch... though she hasn't quite grasped the idea of releasing yet, she is working on it. Lala is a pup that never passes up the opportunity for a good game of tug of war. MEDICAL ISSUES : None. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME : Lala "needs" a home with another young, high energy dog (or 2) she can play with and a fenced yard where she can run around to her heart’s content and burn some of that high energy off. Lala would greatly benefit from positive reinforcement obedience classes. Though Lala loves to go for a ride, she does get car sick so best not to feed her before she hops in the car. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Important notes before applying. Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption.  Proof of any of the following exceptions is required: The intact dog is a working member of a law enforcement, or search and rescue/recovery team. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. wagoninn.rescuegroups.org Buddha aka Butters, is a stunning looking Pit mix who originally came from Louisiana as a stray.  He weighs about 70 lbs. He is approximately 3 years old, and though he is loved by his family,  he is looking for a new home with a fenced in yard & active playmate. He lives with another dog that he loves, 2 cats that he tolerates well, and 4 children that he is very good with. He is reactive to dogs on leash, but with patience & a proper introduction, he does very well.  He is a big snuggle bug with his current owner.  He rarely barks and greets all visitors and people outside beautifully.  He knows some commands and takes treats very nicely.  We feel he would benefit from off leash exercise. Buddah/Butters is a sweet lover boy!   Could you give this handsome hunk the life he deserves? He is fixed, microchipped and he is up to date on vaccines. Buddha tested negative for  heartworm. His adoption fee is $450. He is here in NJ ready to meet you!   How to Adopt Me! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Jersey is a handsome pup who is looking for a home. Jersey is with our rescue partner in Louisiana but can come to NJ if we find a foster or adopter. We do offer a foster-to-adopt trial to approved adopters. Meet Jersey, aka Jersey Boy, aka Jersey- John, aka J-man, aka Meatball von Waddlebutt! Jersey is a 1-2 years old, male, 45lbs potato with legs!  This stocky little fella is an absolute goofball with a great temperament despite his unfortunate previous "ownership". Jersey was abandoned not once but twice, and we just cant understand why! Jersey crates well over night, for meal time, and for extended periods throughout the day.  He knows a few basic commands like sit, down and paw.  He's working on wait and walking more politely on the leash.  Jersey's excitement to explore means he still pulls initially when walking, but because of his stature, he tires pretty quickly. He currently lives with a smaller male dog and has met several other sized dogs with no issues or concern.  He would be fine in a home with small children, although he does have a tendency to barrel through whatever is in front of him.  no cats for this guy. Jersey is very much an energy matcher, he is content laying around, loves toys and will self entertain, but also loves car rides with the windows down or a walk through the park. Note from his foster: "Jersey is the happiest foster dog Ive ever had!  He is smiling and wagging and playing from the moment he wakes up to the moment he rolls off the couch for bed!" Jersey is fixed and up to date on vaccines. Jersey has started treatment for heartworm and can come to NJ once treatment is complete or can complete his treatment in NJ if we find a loving foster or adopter to help him through it. His adoption fee is $450.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to wagoninn.rescuegroups.org. Story
Roxy is ready for her forever home! This absolutely beautiful snuggle bug is looking for a home without other pups and preferably a very comfy couch or dog bed. At about 3.5 years old and 50lbs, Roxy is the perfect level of energy for someone who wants to walk a bit and relax even more. When we saved her, she was very stressed and losing weight in her kennel. It took a few days for her to be comfortable with new people but boy has she blossomed! She loves nothing more than to hang on the couch with people. To meet and adopt Roxy, please apply at shoresaves.com/adopt
