Jax was picked up as a stray in Syracuse and weighs about 85 pounds. He’s an eager boy who gets excited for walks, treats, and getting to spend time with people. He does hold onto some patience though to wait for treats (sometimes) and is highly treat motivated. He already knows sit and is learning down. He walks easily but does pull a bit at the start and end of a walk to show off that he is a strong boy. Jax would likely do best as a dog for people who have owned dogs before and can work on him remembering his manners.

Gabriel has a few affectionate nicknames - house-hippo, low-rider, and big lug. Overall, he walks well on the leash but will sometimes show off his strength. We tend to think he is dog-selective, but we know he loves his toys and will often carry one in his mouth during a walk. He doesn’t mind the snow and will gladly blaze a trail for you. He loves affection and is a favorite of several volunteers.
