He’s gentle with kids, friendly with people, and gets along great with most other dogs, especially small dogs and female dogs. They will be besties! His easygoing nature makes vet visits a breeze—everyone at the clinic adores him! He was out roaming the streets until a kind family took him in. When he was found, he was lying so still, the good Samaritan thought he was dead... until he started wagging his tail. Buddy is being fostered in Syracuse NY! Want to meet him? We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Hi! I am Pawl Stanley and I am a 2-year-old, 70lbs, neutered, and chipped. I have a loving personality and just want to be everybody’s friend! I haven’t had the best life until now. I was abandoned by my previous family and left in an apartment for around 2 weeks with no food and only the toilet to drink from. I was found there and brought to the shelter. A foster stepped up to get me out of the shelter and now things are looking up for me! I get to spend time with humans and both big and small dogs. I love everyone! I like to play with other dogs, but sometimes I get a little too excited for the small dogs and scare them when I do my play dance too close to them! My foster family has been working with me on my manners - I am a good boy, but I am doing my best to become the best boy I know I am meant to be! I already know how to sit, and I am currently learning crate training, wait/stay, leash walking, and basic manners. My foster family says I'm improving every day! I don’t really understand personal space because I want to be close to my friends. Some of my favorite things are making friends (both human and dog), chew toys, eating my veggies (like carrots and broccoli), going on walks (even in light rain), and diving for ice cubes in the water bowl. While I do enjoy my foster family, I am looking for my forever home. I want to be a part of a family that needs a big, excited, bundle of love in their lives! Jax was picked up as a stray in Syracuse and weighs about 85 pounds. He’s an eager boy who gets excited for walks, treats, and getting to spend time with people. He does hold onto some patience though to wait for treats (sometimes) and is highly treat motivated. He already knows sit and is learning down. He walks easily but does pull a bit at the start and end of a walk to show off that he is a strong boy. Jax would likely do best as a dog for people who have owned dogs before and can work on him remembering his manners.

Gabriel has a few affectionate nicknames - house-hippo, low-rider, and big lug. Overall, he walks well on the leash but will sometimes show off his strength. We tend to think he is dog-selective, but we know he loves his toys and will often carry one in his mouth during a walk. He doesn’t mind the snow and will gladly blaze a trail for you. He loves affection and is a favorite of several volunteers.
