COMING SOON- NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION (NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT UNTIL FULL BIO IS POSTED) Welcome Ginny who they called a shorty at the shelter she came from.Ginny is a gentle soul that is recovering from her spay and dental, she will be available for adoption in a few weeks.Hi 🐾 my name is Ginny … my foster mom also calls me love-bug and lovie. I don’t know why??…as soon as I see humans I get so excited, I want to jump on their laps and lick their faces because I love them soooo much! I don’t mind my foster dog and cat sisters but I want more human laps to snuggle 🥰 on. As much as I’d probably like a little human , I might knock them over … I don’t mean to but I am so happy to see them as well. Can I sit on your lap as well? Please!!!!

Story
ADOPTION PENDING Hi there! My name is Zara! I am a fun and extremely cuddly 8-month-old puppy that has all the hard work of basic training already under my belt. I get along with other animals and people of all ages. While no dog is perfect, I am pretty darn close! The first thing you may notice about me is my beauty. I have beautiful amber-coloured eyes and extremely soft fur (my ears feel like velvet). While my muscles make me look tough on the outside, on the inside I am a very sweet, calm, and soft-hearted girl. My foster mom says I am by far the smartest and most intuitive dog she has ever met. I am so eager to please my humans, the sky is the limit for what I can learn! Can you believe that I have all the training basics down already? I know how to sit, lay down, shake a paw, and even a decent stay too! I am also completely housetrained and sleep for the whole night, in a crate in my human's bedroom. I have no issues with anyone taking toys from my mouth and do not guard food, treats or toys. I love to play hard in my yard, but it doesn't take too long before I just want to relax, preferably on a couch with pillows and blankets. When I'm in relaxing mode, my favourite things to do are chew on toys and cuddle with humans. As I am still a baby, I do get excited and play nibble and jump sometimes, however, I am easily corrected with a firm verbal cue. This might make me too much for very small humans, but I do love kids 8 and up! I currently live with an older dog and two cats. I am always trying to engage them to play with me, but my play style is a bit too much for them. I'd be ok living with dog-savvy cats , but do love to chase them in a playful way.I am hoping to find a family that will help me gain confidence as new things can be scary for me. I overcome my fears very quickly with human reassurance and would prefer a home where people are home often and will spend lots of time with me. I'm not a big fan of having my humans out of sight and will cry and bark for a few minutes before settling down. Otherwise, I am very quiet (ok... maybe the occasional snorts, sighs, snores, and burps). I am truly a one in a million companion and will make the right family so happy. If you promise to give me lots of hugs, in return I promise I'll greet you each morning with my wiggly full body tail wags and soft kisses. I'll keep your feet warm under your desk and nuzzle your neck on the couch in the evening. I am so full of love and joy and can't wait to find my forever home!LOCATED IN BURLINGTON HOME REQUIREMENTS- HOME WITH A YARD- OLDER KIDS OR DOGS SAVVY DUE TO STRENGTH- ANY ROBUST DOG AND DOG SAVVY CATS ARE OK

Story
Hi there! My name is Walter. I am a senior-ish boy – estimated around 8ish and I am mostly blind (but don’t let that stop you). I was left tied up outside the shelter – talk about being scared! When I first came to my foster home, I was feeling upset in my tummy for several days, but once we got that cleared up (likely stress from being left behind and being in a shelter environment) I settled right down, started to relax and promise to give you all the love you need. Foster mom says I crave LOVE – when I lay my head in her lap and she gives me soft strokes on my face, I close my eyes and melt – I move in close and just want to touch. I like all the people who have visited and even like the little person who come in like a tornado. I am living in my foster home right now with 3 other dogs. I’m very submissive and will just roll over and show my belly – no confrontation here! I don’t really engage with the other dogs; in fact, I go out of my way to keep a bit of distance. But if they come close to my chew toys – I do let out a good growl – that’s what I’m supposed to do, right?Although I am mostly blind (I can see shadows) I get around great! My nose is simply fabulous…. I’m a mixed breed, part American Bulldog and part Vizsla - so I excel at sniffing! I learn very quickly – for example, after only a few days, I know exactly where to go for dinner time. I’m not very big, only 55lbs (foster mom calls that small compared to 110lbs Lucy!)I am mostly quiet in the house, unless Lucy starts to bark – then I join in - not always sure why though! When I am outside, I like to lay in the sun – I can hear stuff, new things will get me barking – but once I get used to it, it doesn’t set me off (ie. neighbors using clothesline) BUT I can hear those pesky squirrels in the trees – I bark to warn mom they are getting close – she laughs because I am usually looking up at the sky when I bark! She is working on “quiet” as my word when I start barking, but the most effective is we do a nose bump on her open hand…. I settle right away.I go on walks with the other dogs and enjoy stretching my legs. I’m in really good shape, but my skin is still improving. I am taking an allergy pill every day (Apoquel). I’m much better but we still aren’t exactly sure what the allergies are (My allergy test is getting processed but still waiting for results). Foster mom gives me a bath every couple weeks and I’m good for it when she puts the peanut butter on the lick mat (sure hope I’m not allergic to THAT!) I would prefer to live in a house, maybe in the country? If you think we may be a good fit I can’t wait to meet you – I need my own person / family. Located in Belleville

Story
What a happy girl! Pippa is estimated to be about 7 months old and weighs 29 pounds. Oh Pippa, what a sweetie, she is so affectionate and loves getting lots of attention from everyone she meets! Her hobbies include playing with her favorite toy, which is the Kong Wubba, giving lots of kisses, body wiggles, melting into you and belly rubs. What an adorable low rider she is too, she bounds about on her little legs with such happiness, it will for sure make you laugh. Pippa is also a gentle soul who is very attentive and wants to please you. She does have some hand shyness though, so an adopter who can help build her confidence would be perfect. Pippa is a baby, so she's still learning about the world and will need a forever family who can provide her with the love, care, and guidance she needs to grow up to be a wonderful dog. She will need a home where any children are at least 4 years old. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Pippa would love to meet them. She has a low submissive, loose approach with other dogs and goes right into play mode. If you are interested in Pippa and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
