Story
We picked him up on the 4th of July 2-1/2 years ago running down the street, clearly scared of the fireworks. He immediately jumped into the car when we opened the door for him. We took him to the shelter the next day but he refused to get out of the car. He had no chip or tags. They posted him on their web site for 90 days. He was posted on social media and asked around elsewhere but no one claimed him. When we first got him he couldn't walk without falling and wasn't house trained. He had a bad smelling skin condition. When we took him to the vet they said he had clearly had been kenneled for too long which was why he had a hard time walking. It looked like he was abused and neglected. Vet said he was about 1 year old at that time. I put "unknown" if he gets along with other dogs because he gets along with some but not others. I think he may have a dog version of PTSD. I don't have a yard and think he would do better someplace with a lot of room to run freely.

Pugsley is the ideal blend of playful enthusiasm and affectionate sweetness. He loves to run, play, and explore—whether he’s romping in the yard, joining you for long walks, or splashing in the water, one of his all-time favorite activities. He walks beautifully on a leash and brings enthusiasm to every outing, making him a wonderful walking or hiking buddy. At home, Pugsley is a delightful goofball. He’ll do an “alligator chomp” in the air to get your attention, spook himself with a trash bag blowing across the yard, or curl up next to you in the funniest positions. He is good with dogs of all sizes and enjoys having canine companions to play and relax with. Pugsley is incredibly loving and people-oriented. He’s fantastic with kids of all ages and quickly becomes a family favorite. He crates easily when no one is home and does best in a household with a yard and, ideally, another dog buddy. He would love to have a family that is home alot if he is the only dog. He is also cat friendly but may try to play with them. Pugsley is currently being fostered in a home in Seguin, TX. He gets anxious with car rides so he is available in Texas only. He loves sleeping in a bed with his family and sleeps soundly through the night. His quirks—like sleeping with his tongue sticking out and snoring softly—only make him more endearing.
