Story
Meet Juniper ("Junie") Sweet, spirited, and smart as a whip, Juniper is a 2-year-old bulldog mix with a heart full of love and a brain that might just train you if you’re not careful. At about 40 lbs, she’s the perfect petite adventure buddy (though don’t let those photos fool you...she looks bigger in pictures!).  And we can't forget her adorable little bobtail - it only adds to her charm and makes her happy wiggles even more endearing.  After a rough start in life, living as a stray and caring for her two pups, Tazzy and Bailey, Junie landed in a southern shelter in desperate need of help. She was severely underweight, heartworm positive, and clearly had gone without care or comfort for far too long. Thanks to an amazing rescue team, Junie received the medical treatment she needed, was spayed, and has made an amazing recovery. Now that her pups have found loving homes, it’s finally Juniper’s turn.  What’s Juniper like? Juniper is a true survivor: resourceful, resilient, curious, and always thinking one step ahead. Junie thrives on mental stimulation and would love a home where she can keep learning and exploring. She's food motivated (read: very trainable!) and has already shown she enjoys working with humans, whether it's practicing obedience or solving treat puzzles. She's also been dabbling in frisbee. Maybe her next trick will be catching one mid-air! Juniper would be an awesome match for someone active who enjoys hiking, running, or even agility sports. She’s naturally alert and makes a great little watchdog, keeping an eye on everything around her. But don’t be fooled by her smarts and energy, Junie has a soft, affectionate side too. It’s clear she didn’t get much love in her early life, but she's learning that belly rubs, ear scratches, and quiet cuddle time are pretty great.  We're still learning more about Junie as she settles into her Vermont foster home, but one thing’s for sure: this girl is ready to leave her tough past behind and finally find the loving, active forever home she deserves. Dog-friendly: She’s done well around other tolerant dogs. She would be best suited with a well balanced, playful dog that can help her learn the proper way to socialize.  No cats, please: Junie’s prey drive is a bit too strong for feline friends. Fenced yard: Strongly encouraged so she can safely zoom and explore. Bonus points if you love teaching tricks or going on outdoor adventures! Our adoption fee is $400, which includes age-appropriate vaccines (such as Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo, and Rabies), neutering, worming, microchipping, and a health exam. Discount vouchers for training, grooming, and similar dog-related products and services are provided.    November 13, 2025, 10:55 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Available for adoption** Oscar is a big lover boy. His nub tail is always wagging and he just wants to love you and be loved by you. He is a big goof but also so sweet and loving. He knows sit and shake and he has never had a accident in the house or his kennel. He's currently laid up with me snacking on a bag of trail mix. He doesn't beg and he takes his treats so gently. He does get excited with new people or when coming in after being outside but he settles quickly. Our vet guestimates him to be around 6 years old but he sure has a lot of spunk to be middle aged. I think Oscar would do best in a home with a dog close in size that also enjoys playing. He is neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm negative with a proheart 6, and microchipped. This big cutie patootie is going to be the perfect addition to the right family. Oscar is currently in a foster home in Shreveport, LA but we do adopt out of state and transport can easily be arranged.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 4, 2025, 7:34 am

Story
Matilda was found as a stray in SC. We pulled her from the shelter and she arrived in NH in October. She’s about 9 months old, 34lbs, has short legs and lots of rolls - maybe part bulldog? She’s spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines. She is SO sweet and gentle and polite. She likes stuffed toys, treats, knows “sit,” and has been doing well meeting new people. She is sometimes shy at first but warms up quickly. Matilda has the silliest zoomies! She’s very playful with other dogs, and likes to wrestle. But also respects their space if they get grumpy. She’s still not sure about car rides and has to be picked up to go in or out of vehicles, though she’s very calm when in the car. She’s overall been very quiet. She does fine when crated. She’s doing pretty well with potty training and goes outside consistently, but still needs to go out every 2-3 hours to avoid accidents right now. Her right eye has a cloudy spot in it, which our vet thinks might be congenital or from an old puncture to her eye. Either way, she does have visibility in that eye and it isn’t cause for concern, but her vision likely has a blurred spot in it. It doesn’t affect her cuteness though!
